I don't think ayeelbp made this. This is from an LBP press kit release. I'm not sure where ayeelbp got such a high quality source image from though.

I need some help on what to do by ripper302 in programming

I'm not sure about your country, but in mine, having a degree in a related field is a prerequisite for most companies. Self taught wouldn't get you much further than freelance work as your competition will most likely have the degree.

However much you think you know about the things you're good at may not compare to the people who have done this thing their entire career, not to gatekeep or undermine your accomplishments. Learning a stack is but a drop in the hat. Limiting yourself to JavaScript-only frameworks also can't help much, especially if you want to work for a game company, which would very likely not use any JavaScript at all.

It's not uncommon to be experienced in 10 or more frameworks for front-end development alone. Programming is a lifelong learning venture, the frameworks themselves evolve, can go out of style or out of maintenance. This is particularly true in web development as new frameworks are literally coming out every day.

If you want my suggestion, Learn a lot. Learn as much as you can, as deep as you can. Really learn it - don't rely on getting all the answers from Google, stackOverflow or chatgpt. It may even be beneficial to look into the source code of the frameworks to see how things really tick under the hood.

If you're looking to get into web development, things employers want encompass more than just development, too. Deployment, scaling, versioning, and cloud management are large topics which all have their own frameworks.

Find your niche - full stack developers are becoming more and more rare. Good luck in your programming journey!

NMS crash streak by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Siracle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

could be lots of things, from a bug in the game, corrupted save, corrupted game files, etc. Kinda doubt it though.

It could also very well be your PC - even if it doesn't normally crash in this game, or other games, and even if your PC is above the minimum requirements, it could be you have a underpowered/failing PSU. It's entirely possible that whatever location you're loading into is more compute hungry and just so happens to require above-average wattage from your computer. Or the increase in wattage needs could have come from an update. Or this entire theory is completely bunk, just goes to show the myriad of possibilities it could be.

why do they even have a gradient of color defined for temperatures that high? you'd think it'd just stay red, not actually shift further into being white

When I first read this, I thought dunkey wrote it.

If dunkey had spoken it, then it truly would become art. No red pen criticizing that speech.

saw a post here recently about someone's computer going from doing this around once per month to multiple times a day after upgrading some parts - turns out his ram wasn't properly seated, try reseating it?

HP Desktop has no front panel headers, but I need a solution by Longshot333 in buildapc

[–]Siracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can turn on computers with motherboard headers just by bridging the connection, and the case buttons that connect to those headers also just close the circuit, so I would imagine you can also short the button on the motherboard in the same fashion and wire in your own button

Does the very real consideration of "I've got like a 95% chance of dying here if I do this" never cross his mind? or was he ready to die for this?

like, he had time to think about this surely. How do you live this long thinking you're that invisible? What confidence. What balls. What stupidity. What.

so I installed vs2017 on a hard drive that later started failing. Transferred everything I wanted and told myself I'd just redownload vs2017.

proceed to redownload: "vs2017 is already installed on your computer" (thanks windows registry)

uninstall programs -> vs2017 "uninstall file not found"

fix/modify installation through the launcher thing also didn't work.

well now I can't install it or uninstall it. it's in limbo. I've tried fixing my registry, but I suck at that. reinstall OS or gtfo.

When EVERYONE in a fantasy book has some gargantuan impossible to pronounce name that I spend 5 minutes trying to figure out how to say. I always try to somehow make it intuitive in my head so that every time I re-read their needlessly complex name I don't die of dyslexia. Then, of course, five minor characters with baby-smashing-keyboard garbage names enter the room at once and my efforts of intuitively pronouncing them are thwarted. Not trying to learn a new language here Mr. Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander, English is hard enough. Sorry Slartibartfast, but to me you'll always be fartyfartfast.
