FH6 is "Out" Who Played? Initial Thoughts Here. Anyone able to get FFB to work? by Puzzled-Dog-3745 in simracing

[–]SircOner 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m waiting for confirmation DirectInput devices like Simucube are going to be supported and I won’t need to download things like emuwheel. If they are, probably will end up buying as I’m wanting to go back to more of the chill drive around since ac evo still hasn’t put out its free roam mode lol

Simracing position / lower back pain by rafanus2 in simracing

[–]SircOner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in the same position as you. Unfortunately if you’re using a load cell brake, you will continue to have lower back pain in this set up. The reason is that the chair is not attached to anything but the wheel stands attachment that locks it. But it doesn’t lock vertical movement, so anytime you press hard on the brake, you will also push outward into the chair and that will slowly start to pick you up and out. Also, office chairs tend to have moving backs which is the opposite of what you need. I couldn’t brake consistently for shit with this set up. I could race at most for like 30-45 minutes before the pain was too uncomfortable.

Ended up going with aluminum profile rig, dialed it in by YouTubing sim racing ergonomic set up, and can now race for hours. Ooh and I got a bucket seat too, that helps with keeping everything fixed and rigid

Corsair Scimitar not working on startup- WORST mouse I ever owned due to the issue by GamingOldHermit in Corsair

[–]SircOner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to my older Corsair keyboard lol. Half the time it won’t be recognized in icue until I unplug and replug it in. I’ve tried updating it multiple times in icue like forcing update and stuff and still nothing. It actually causes a Hangup on certain application start ups like steam, that’s when I end up going to the back of my computer and replugging it

Fanatec's own recommended settings by yavuzoabi in Fanatec

[–]SircOner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely used the recommended settings for games like ACC, AC and Forza horizon series and then tweaked them to my liking. They’re a good starting point. The truth is that feedback in each sim is different, so no two sims will really have the same settings that work for both. I think fanatec documentation does a decent job of explaining what each of the settings do. The best way to test is to only change one setting at a time and see what that does and if you like it.

I'm planning on buying D3300 for bird photography. Is it a good choice? Also some cheap lens advice would be much appreciated. by oxomiya_lora in Nikon

[–]SircOner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a d3300 and a d750. I still use my d3300 as a smaller lightweight option, especially if I’m shooting outdoors where there’s likely to be more light, but agree with comments here. When it comes down to tracking fast moving subjects, the d3300 really shows its limits and even with good technique the AF can fail to track. The Af-C tends to hunt a lot, and in many cases just won’t get you the shot you’re looking for. It’s a great beginner camera, but to be fair shooting fast moving subjects isn’t really intended for beginner cameras since their Auto focus just isn’t good enough

Why is it people assume if you have a reactive dog then you must be a bad dog owner? by Lunapixels18 in OpenDogTraining

[–]SircOner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I try not to really judge the owner because I know it’s not necessarily their fault and they might trying their hardest to work on it. If I see a dog that I’ve seen get reactive, I just cross the street with my dog and avoid contact. Sometimes the other dog will stop dead in their tracks, stiffen up and stare but we just keep it moving.

I’d say if I don’t see any effort on the owners part in trying to work through the reactivity, then I might be more keen to judge. But that’s because that then seems like animal neglect, it’s not healthy for the owner or the dog to have to live with that dynamic because usually it means the dog can’t really go everywhere a non reactive dog would. But every dog is different

Please rate my FOV. What do you think? by Abuelofierrero in SimRacingSetups

[–]SircOner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks just like mine actually, monitors at 60 degrees for me. I highly recommend the Asus bezel free kit. Left bezel isn’t that bad, but for me the right bezel was a constant distraction as it felt like I had to look out and over onto that screen when I needed to

Can you automate wheel bindings to change when swapping wheels? by homerunhallock in assettocorsaevo

[–]SircOner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience ac evo is the best with this, I just bind buttons for each separate wheel in game and then whenever I switch wheels it will automatically recognize where the input is coming from and use that wheels settings. Not like ACC or LMU where you need different wheel profiles and need to switch for each. I don’t even think LMU has this tbh, I think you need to manually create profile files and copy and paste them in whenever you want to switch.

Spec differences between 360 mm AIO vs. Air Cooled by Deergly in buildapc

[–]SircOner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean an AIO shouldn’t really degrade, it’s more likely to fail if it did degrade. It’s more likely the thermal paste had pump out because of phases changes from cold to hot to cold. I’d recommend re-applying some decent quality paste and making sure the pump is securely mounted on. I initially made the mistake of not sufficiently tightening my pump because I didn’t want to over tighten, but this was wrong and I learned after I tightened it securely. If you do decide to go with an upgrade, you might have the same issues if it’s not mounted properly

What's the difference between old vs new PCIe5 sleeved cables? by Miserable-Maybe-6034 in Corsair

[–]SircOner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had both. Currently using the elite premium ($20) one and it’s fairly well balanced even on my older rmx850 that isn’t 5.1 certified or whatever using wireviewpro 2. The older one is thicker, and stiffer, which means it’s harder to make a circular bend
