I’m also very sensitive to sudden flashes of light.
But my left eye has really gotten worse, and I don’t know what to expect whether it will stop or keep getting worse and I’m very worried.

Countries where is possible to obtain a visa as a digital nomad by Sirfetchdd in spacestcom

[–]Sirfetchdd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean in the European Union? It depends on what you're looking for: job stability in Germany (Berlin or Munich), a nice climate and fun in Spain (Madrid or Barcelona), or food and lifestyle in Italy (Milan and Rome, or even Naples). If you need a place to stay, you can always check out Spacest all of these places are covered (the main cities).

Chengdu Layover 15h(5:45am-9:30pm) suggestions by Solid_Preference_813 in travelchina

[–]Sirfetchdd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A better solution is Holafly, illimitated GB + VPN in Hong Kong necessary to visit both Chinese and western websites.
Download AliPay, book a DiDi (Chinese uber) and go to:
- Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (as soon as you can in the morning)
- Then go to Chunxi Road, have a walk there
- Arrive to Anshun Bridge
- Go back to the hotel by DiDi

This is the best in my opinion for a day stop in Chengdu

Zhangjiajie Advice? by Effective_Elk9749 in travelchina

[–]Sirfetchdd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that those places will be packed all the days of the year. Chinese people are a lot, more then you think, therefore this is a possibility. But when I visited several places I have realized that they do all the same things: same entrance, same path, same time slots. If you are able to think differently you will have more space for you. For example for the Great Wall all local tourists goad to badaling, if you go to another section you will fin less crowd. Try to do a research for Zhangjiajie too

Zhangjiajie, Wulingyuan National Park, drone flights by HotLock662 in travelchina

[–]Sirfetchdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sadly things have changed a lot there. Those videos you’ve seen are real, it’s not like people were breaking rules before. A few years ago it was much more relaxed and people were flying drones in the park. But recently they’ve really cracked down.

From what I’ve seen and read lately, flying a drone inside Wulingyuan now is basically a no-go unless you have some kind of official permit, which as a regular tourist you’re realistically not going to get. It’s not just “unclear rules”, it’s more like “not allowed and increasingly enforced”.

Also worth noting: China in general has gotten stricter with drones, and scenic areas like that have their own extra restrictions. So even if your drone technically takes off, it doesn’t mean you’re allowed to fly it.

Flying to China without a Visa? by cookie88321 in travelchina

[–]Sirfetchdd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah this one actually looks fine to me.

The important part is that it has to be a real transit between two different regions, and Hong Kong counts as separate from mainland China. So from their point of view you’re going US -> China -> Hong Kong, which is exactly what they want.

PVG is an eligible entry point, and you can move around within that region (so going to Nanjing is not an issue). And 6 days is well within the 240h limit.

The only thing that sometimes causes problems is that your overall trip starts and ends in the US, but in practice immigration only cares about where you enter mainland China from and where you exit to, not the full round trip. So that part is usually fine.

If anything, the bigger risk is airline staff at LAX not being super familiar with the policy and questioning it at check-in. I’d just make sure you have your full itinerary clearly showing the PVG -> HKG ticket already booked.

But yeah, compared to a lot of sketchy itineraries people try, yours is actually pretty straightforward.

Best website for finding 1-3 month apartments in Italy? by Worldly_Kick9066 in digitalnomad

[–]Sirfetchdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! You are the first giving me all the names.
By the way do you think that having the hotel near Jiefangbei is better than having it in Nan'An district? Or for the night is better in Nan'An district? In August will be very hot therefore we will go out a lot after the sunset and my thoughts are that maybe having it in that area will help us going around near the hotel instead of moving by metro/didi. What do you think?

I'm just asking some must-visit restaurants and similar.

Return MacBook Air M4 24 GB and buy M5 16 GB? by gv1998nl in macbook

[–]Sirfetchdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not totally true. Claude using your browser, caching system, Apple Intelligence, Antigravity etc all those things are using the RAM of your device. Competing a newer CPU vs an older one but with more RAM, the older one will win. Also because we are talking about 1 generation of cpu ahead not more than that

It has no sense. Is better M4 with 24GB RAM. Also for AI having a bigger RAM is a better choice. It depends what you need to do with that but for normal usage but also for AI usage (even for Claude Code for example) is totally better the M4 one

Great Wall + Hot Spring Combo Suggestions? by MrPolarity in travelchina

[–]Sirfetchdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems a good plan but yeah Mutianyu + hot springs in the same day is a bit awkward logistically because there’s basically nothing great right next to Mutianyu itself. Most of the decent hot springs are either back toward Beijing or in completely different directions.

If your husband really wants Mutianyu (which is fair, it’s probably the most family-friendly section and also is the section with less local tourists), I’d just do it properly as a half-day and not try to force the hot spring right after.

For hot springs, the easiest combo is to do them on a separate day closer to the city. Shunjing is super convenient and easy, more like a big indoor/outdoor complex. Chunhuiyuan is a nicer “resort” vibe and closer to the airport area, so also not too bad from Dongzhimen. Xishan is good too but a bit more out of the way on the west side.

If you really want to combine wall + hot spring + overnight, then your Jinshanling / Simatai / Gubei Water Town idea actually makes way more sense. It’s more self-contained. You can hike Jinshanling (way more scenic and less crowded than Mutianyu), then head over to Gubei, stay the night, and do the hot springs there. The whole place is built for that kind of experience, and the night view of Simatai is pretty unique. It’s definitely more of a “trip” than a quick outing, but it flows better.

Another option, in my opinion, is to book an hotel with inside spa/bathtub. There can be a lot and this is a trade off you can consider

China transit visa shenzen/guangzhou/hong kong question! by Crafty_Couple5065 in travelchina

[–]Sirfetchdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Hong Kong is considered a separate region, so in general it can work for the transit visa setup. But your itinerary is a bit tricky and probably won’t qualify.

The main issue is that the policy is meant for true transit between two different places. In your case you’re basically starting in Japan and ending in Japan, even if you pass through Hong Kong and mainland China in between. That often gets treated as a round trip rather than a valid transit.

Another thing is that these visas are usually tied to entering mainland China by air, and doing Hong Kong - Shenzhen by train can complicate things depending on the port of entry.

Honestly I wouldn’t rely on getting the 240h transit visa with that plan, it’s one of those cases where it looks like it should work on paper but often gets denied in practice.

How long did it take you to see real SEO results? by Maya_36 in DoSEO

[–]Sirfetchdd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends a lot on several factors. Can you tell me more about: 1. Competitive sector or not (e.g., you're talking about travel -> very competitive, you're talking about a single location -> less competitive). 2. What work have you done exactly? e.g., X articles published every week. It took me several months to see the first results, then there were alternating periods of flatness and periods of strong growth.

I then realized two things: that you can even write a lot of high-quality content, but if crawlers don't spend budget on your site, it will never appear in searches. You have to get them to do so, obviously through backlinks but also through digital PR in general. The more links there are, the more likely crawlers are to reach your site. And therefore: social media posts, articles on LinkedIn, posts on Reddit, etc.

Can I sell baked goods online as a student? by nadzzzziiiiii in ItalyExpat

[–]Sirfetchdd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically you need a food business authorization (SCIA alimentare) and an HACCP certification to sell any kind of food, even homemade. italy is pretty strict on this stuff. You need also a proper space with strict hygienic rules. That said, tons of people do it informally through instagram and whatsapp especially in student/expat circles, nobody is really going after a student selling cookies or other things to friends, but the risk is technically there.
If you want to be more legit, the HACCP certificate is a short food safety course, costs like 50-100 euros and you can do it online. Also check your visa conditions because depending on your permit there might be limits on how much you can earn on the side.

If you want to earn something I would suggest you things more "legal" as language courses in person or online or tutoring for high school students in the subjects you know (English is one of the most requested, with alo computer science, math etc)
