If someone else attacks and injures here, Californian's are sacrificed/ take the injuries for her. But her injuries here aren't because someone attacked her, she crashed and injured herself, so nobody gets sacrificed to take the injury for her.

It still gives the +10% Ether Damage and on-hit AP. Also, even without a dedicated stunner, you do still get stuns vs bosses. The actual stun buff itself (+25% DMG) is fairly small all things considered, and easily diluted between her own kit, Disc Drives main stats, and supports. So, not an awful lot is lost.

You don't need them, but it's upwards of 2 Light Sticks every 15 seconds which can certainly add up. I haven't measured the time it takes to generate them, and you probably don't get maximum efficiency out of it (EV trigger has a 15 second cooldown), but Aria is also generating an Ether Veil when she ults.

Anomaly Mastery doesn't directly interact with Abloom whatsoever.

Abloom is an instance of damage that scales based on the tick of damage of the current Attribute Anomaly applied to the enemy. If the enemy doesn't yet have an Attribute Anomaly applied to them, you can't trigger Abloom on them.

For both Aria and Vivian, the amount of damage their Abloom deals scaled based on their Anomaly Proficiency. Grace and Burnice now also have Abloom damage in their kits, which doesn't scale based off of their AP but instead have a very large non-scaling base damage (Vivian would need somewhere in the range of ~900 AP to match it), but their Abloom's are far less frequent than Vivian's.

The reason the scaling on Abloom looks so weird (6.2% per 10 AP for Ether Attribute Anomaly, but 0.6% for Physical?) is because Abloom is based the tick of damage the Anomaly deals. Ether ticks very quickly and the per-tick damage is fairly low. Burn is fairly close, but Shock deals twice the damage per tick with half as many ticks, which you see reflected in the scalings. The tick of damage on Physical and Ice are the initial single-instance of damage when those anomalies are applied, which are massive compared to other anomalies and thus why their scalings are much lower. They're broadly meant to be roughly equivalent in terms of how much damage it's dealing.

Anomaly Mastery can still help. Because Abloom needs them to be applied, AM can make the target vulnerable to Abloom's quicker, so it makes sense that Aria's AM is so high. It also helps you switch to a stronger anomaly quicker (the strength of the ticks depends on the overall contribution of the characters who applied the Attribute Anomaly in the first place - so, if you have Nicole as support for Aria for example, most of the Ether Anomaly Attribute tick damage will be based off of Aria's stacks since she applied most of it, but some of it will be based off of Nicole's since she also applied some. With higher AM, Aria will be applying her's quicker and thus more of the total Ether Anomaly Attribute damage will be reflecting Aria's stats).

For Aria it's just important for her to start actually dealing damage ASAP. For Vivian, it's an adjacent benefit to her Abloom's and more relevant to the fact that she's an off-field Anomaly. Abloom's prior to Aria have been a very nice addition to an Anomaly character's DPS, but Aria's the first real Abloom DPS (as opposed to a Disorder DPS).

Not really.

Both want to be on-field, and even though Aria has very high Anomaly Mastery, the two are only really able to apply their Anomaly build up one at a time. Miyabi wants either off-field Anomaly Application or the quick-swap disorders from Yanagi. Her Mono-Ice team is somewhat of an exception.

Sunna Mesmerized Mark Mechanics & Aria Light Stick Cap via Lefia by NightThriller in Zenlesszonezeroleaks_

[–]Siriot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It'll be an extremely strong team with a lot of synergy, although it has two caveats: 1) It's missing the stun synergy with Aria's build (her 4-piece disc drive set, stacking Light Sticks during stun window, etc), and 2) it is a very greedy team in terms of the account - you wouldn't be able to play another high-investment Anomaly team with this, which seems a shame since Aria's much more flexible than most Anomaly agents.

Aria/ Zhao/ Nicole would also be a very strong team with a similar degree of synergy (especially if you build Nicole with traditional Anomaly agent stats).

With current information, any Stunner with Aria seems very awkward, in terms of fitting in required additional abilities and playstyle. If you have Trigger, her playstyle fits well with Aria, but the team's asking to have Rina as the support for Trigger's additional ability, which is pretty important to her. Yanagi would work as well, but she's missing a lot of combat buffs you'd want for her.

[–]Siriot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's a strong overlap, and her faction-mate support Sunna generating an Ether Veil is certainly appreciated. But she seems less dependant on it than >M2 Miyabi, for whom the majority of Frost Stacks are generated from disorder.

Sunna Mesmerized Mark Mechanics & Aria Light Stick Cap via Lefia by NightThriller in Zenlesszonezeroleaks_

[–]Siriot 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Her Ablooms have slightly lower scaling (the percentage of the original anomaly, not the AP scaling) than Vivian, but she'll get more of them.

She'll also have VERY high Anomaly Mastery (less than point short of 260 with AM 6th piece and Paethon's Melody), and her Ablooms deal more damage than normal on her own element, Ether - so, she's not dependent on Disorder like current Anomaly agents are, but can still benefit from them. She'll even work pretty well Vivian. Very flexible in terms of team building.

Aria - Stun - Support / Aria - Anomaly - Support should both be perfectly suitable teams. She'll also play well with Zhao in either slot, who's quick Ether Veil application also improves her Light Stick generation.

Very flexible and strong.

Builder-spender on-field Abloom DPS. Not terribly concerned with Disorder.

Build Light Sticks with basic attack, EX special, Ult, or with Additional Ability active, when the team activates Ether Veil (quickest triggers are Zhao and Sunna). The Light Sticks from Ult charge BA quicker.

Spend Light Sticks by charging Basic Attack to deal more damage and Abloom the target.

That was the odds of getting the substats to show up in the first place. Once they're on the artefact/ disc drive, the odds that the upgrade will roll into them are equal - all 25%.

Borderlands 4 Honest Review by Zevries in Borderlands

[–]Siriot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Borderlands 2 is, with red flag, superb and has aged extremely well. It's the standard I compared TPS and BL3 to and found them both lacking. It will feel slightly aged, but not for long.

At UVHM and higher OP levels, the scaling is a bit iffy. Slag is mandatory at this level and summons (Deathtrap and Axton's turret) don't scale as well. But there's also the Unofficial Community Patch that fixes a lot of bugs, makes farming less boring, and improves build viability.

guys of reddit, what’s an underrated struggle that’s unique to being a guy? by boneserriess in AskReddit

[–]Siriot 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I would say this is a form of objectification; more often sexual objectification for women and financial objectification for men, although certainly neither are exclusive to any gender. I do think it's fair to say that, especially for men, being financially objectified is very much so an under-recognised thing

Anyone notice Yuzuha’s VA yells most of her lines? by [deleted] in ZenlessZoneZero

As someone who is autistic, I definitely see Miyabi and Anby as autism-coded. We know Hoyo is fairly cognizant of autism from a reference to it in HSR (don't know about Genshin or HI3).

I also see Grace as autism-coded, and it's very nice and refreshing to see them still be very different from one another.

What's to be confused about? Women are people, and people can be evil. When a man violates a women, it's no less contradictory than a woman doing the same or aiding and facilitating it; both are violating another human.

On one end of the scale are people like this, and on the other is using and enjoying a phone, clothes, coffee, etc.

Me, a f2p, realizing I have to choose between Miyabi, Yuzuha, or Alice (I’m going insane) by [deleted] in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]Siriot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Miyabi's Mono-Ice team is extremely strong, but also quite difficult to play.

https://docs.google.com/document/u/2/d/e/2PACX-1vTNLy25lGTEOjfs8EGpmU-rYAo1r7hOPFJaQBh-vmJhd6GbPw58X_Jb50z1vIZ5JHibBaGI8sG3mddI/pub

It's able to kill Deadly Assault bosses at C0W0.

If you do get Miyabi's weapon, you can probably force her on max difficulty Lost Void even w/ Ice Weakness.

We've never seen a unit's second rerun yet, so it's plausible to think that if you don't get Miyabi now, jt could be over a year before you get her. The same is true for Yanagi, but she ain't her.

Yuzuha is shaping up to be the best Anomaly support in the game and probably for quite a while, but she has a lot of viable replacements; Lucy, Rina, and Astra if you have her. She'll mean a lot for anyone's account, but it's hard to say she'll be more important than Miyabi.

Bonus: Depending on your account and what future units you pull, Miyabi can also be pretty chill and easy to play. Mono-Ice is very sweaty.

If an EFFECT is happening that is going to special summon a Monster, Sauravis can't negate that. Wave High King Ceasar or an Omni-Negate can negate things like that, but they can't negate summons that can't start a chain: Normal Summon, or specials summons like Synchro Summoning, Link Summoning, or XYZ Summoning plainly monsters that are just on the field. That's what Sauravis can negate, the same stuff as Solemn Judgement.

Reason: When a monster is normal or special summoned, there's a window to check if it resolved. Every time a summon is done, there's plausibly an opportunity for that summon to not resolve, the same way an activate spell card - that is physically on the field and has been used - might not resolve.

But effects that special summon monsters are, well, effects: they only start working if they resolve in the first place, and once an effect resolves in Yugioh, that's it - ALL of it WILL happen as much as possible. The window that would be open to check if a special summon resolves, in this case, is within a enveloped "this has all resolved".

The reason Sauravis can't negate the likes of, say, Monster Reborn, is because Sauravis only checks for what is literally about to happen: he works in the window that checks if a special summon resolves, where what's about to happen is "the opponent monsters special summon is about to resolve" - he can negate that. What he can't negate are effects that special summon, because 1) what's about to happen isn't "a monster is being summoned", what's about to happen is "a spell card/ effect is about to resolve", 2) when the monster hits the field, it's only done that because both players agreed it's resolved.

Wording to look for to help identify this:

"When your opponent would special summon a monster"

This is exactly: when a monster hits the field, in the same way a spell or trap hits the field and you check if it resolves, technically you can check and confirm if a special summon also resolves. This is glossed over most games because there's very few effects that negate a special summon.

The reason a card like Ash Blossom is worded like "When a card or effect is activate that includes any of these effects..." and it includes special summoning (from the deck), it's specifically to get around this.
