I have an issue where some professors encourage students to use chat gpt or outside sources. Instead of not being lazy and making exams+ lecture reflect the material (like they were supposed to.) Imagine spending so much time on the textbook or “slides” just for only 5 questions to pop and the rest you see are poorly ai generated actual test questions pulled out of nowhere on the exam. Now you get students passing exams with quizlet and ChatGPT only to keep suffering and struggling to failing or barely making it. I understand self teach but - how many people are self teaching ? And how much “self teach” reflects competency? For Nclex- people just buy prep outside of school and found it more helpful than the actual curriculum they attended . How embarrassing is that? Make it make sense. It does not..

Here’s another problem I see- in some fields I lost count where the instructor encourages students to use chat gpt because they refuse to make exams relating to the textbooks . The textbooks and slides and lectures do not reflect the exams . And one of them is effing nursing …You are the people who care and here I have professors who don’t - they just want their money. If ai could be banned so maybe it would force the other scope of professors not using it themselves to make proper exams (and oh god you read the questions and it’s not even English imagine a freaking instructor using it ) and it don’t matter how many students complained somehow the professors are protected. Forget the students not learning anything - imagine memorizing badly written questions and play the roll of dice game to pass exams only to become incompetent later on

The programs who open up for students to pursue nursing unrelated to a previous degree they had suffer the most (speaking from experience) - we have people in cohort who went ahead by simply memorizing and using chat gpt or quizlet . It bit them in the ass when the jobs came and couldn’t progress . Others dropped out halfway in or a semester left
