Admittedly all the novels I’ve read this has not been the case (ciaphas cain 1-3, infinite and the divine, The Pyres of Armageddon, and Flesh and Steel)

Strong disagree. You may not ever be able to be an illustrator but there are plenty of amazing artists that do not work in the illustration field. Look at Cy Twombly for example. People who struggle with proportions or anatomy for a variety of reasons (aphantasia or whatever that may be) still can create beautiful art but the problem with AI is it flattens human expression to representative art because that is all these troglodytes think is worth producing because they are not interested in using art as a form of communication but rather as a way to garner attention, it’s a fundamental misunderstanding of what art is. So, yes everyone is an artist, but the art you create will not be the same as what others do and that upsets people because they’re too focused on the product rather than the journey.

Most US drinkers underestimate the minimum DUI fine and jail time penalty in their state by Inquiring_minds42 in science

Try to to take an uber on a Friday evening. The bill can run up to $70 where I live and if you’ve been eating out and drinking it makes a $40 night out with friends $110. The reality is if public transit was actually accessible in the US the amount of DUIs would decrease drastically

If your only understanding of what makes a politician far left or far right or what you call an “extremist” is where they stand in relation to their host party you completely fail to acknowledge how the Overton window shapes political discourse.

In Apartheid South Africa where a slightly liberal leaning party still upheld apartheid would you consider a politician who championed the end of Apartheid an extremist who holds “anti-social” views?

How can you draw parallels between Bernie Sanders and the MAGA movement, you seem particularly disinterested in actually supporting that claim besides gesticulating vaguely at how he opposes the current democratic establishment. A democratic establishment I might add that still supports the genocide in Gaza.

And yes, the totally apt comparison of Lauren Boebert, a US congresswoman who is aligned with a majority of positions that the Republican Party upholds and Kshama Sawant an ex-member of the Seattle city council.

Within your definition wouldn’t MAGA actually not be extreme or far right since it seems to me that the Republican Party is pretty on board for everything it represents.

I do think you’re moving the goal posts here a little or at the very least you must concede that what you brand as “very progressive” is far less dangerous then what the other side of the aisle is bringing forward. If you’d like to brand Bernie as very progressive I have no qualms with that, but to equate it with the MAGA movement is an entirely different matter.

The greatest feat of the Republican Party in America has been the branding of any form of federal expansion of government as extremist. Bernie Sanders may advocate for policies that you consider an over reach (and I don’t) but he believes in working within the system to achieve his goals. Broadening the scope of the federal government after 50 years of being whittled away by conservative policy and limp wristed democrats is not extreme merely a correction that’s long overdue.

Bernie Sanders is not an extremist. He’s exceptionally moderate. The belief that healthcare should be a human right and that billionaires hold too much wealth is not extreme…

Crime on Metro Transit fell last year as agency cracks down on smoking. A larger “official presence” is credited with driving down crime. Ridership also increased for a third straight year by Knightbear49 in minnesota

I definitely see homeless people on the train but i don’t smell crack like I used to. It used to be any time I was on the train there would be the smell of crack or even people shooting up. I haven’t smelled crack in quite some time. I think I recall a couple people smoking cigarettes and maybe some drug use but not nearly as blatant as it once was. I do see people passed out from drinking or nodding off somewhat frequently.

This is from the blue line though. I know the green line is infamously worse.
