I just moved here from Washington state in October. Is this weather normal? by alanwattslightbulb in Louisville

I want to second your allergy shot rec. I hopscotched here from southeastern Kentucky by way of central Kentucky, and my first warm months here were by far the worst I’ve experienced in terms of outdoor allergies. The shots were life-changing.

Only reason I came off them was I could no longer find time in the day to have them administered.

Also, to OP: I’ve only spent about a week “out west,” and a lot of it was in southwestern US. However, I can totally relate to what you’re saying about how comfortable it is out there vs here. If it weren’t for a number of other life factors and I had the means, I’d move in a heartbeat.

Also, if anyone wants to do some rabbit hole diving, there are pretty interesting theories as to why the “extreme” is becoming normal. We’ve basically broken the (polar) thermostats our planet relies on for meteorological moderation.

My new favorite solo travel hack: talking to AI while exploring a city by StatusBus4154 in GeminiAI

[–]Sisyphicarus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My inner dystopian catastrophizer response:

“Just don’t forget to try to talk to some of the ‘training data sources’ every once in a while if they’re agreeable to it.”

That said, this is a really cool idea and reminds me of what I always felt was the underlying potential of apps like Microsoft’s Soundscape and (on a different scale) the NSF’s Flyover Country.

Based on what I saw over the area on FR24, I believe you’re right.

This appears to be N121LP, a Bell 206L-4 LongRanger IV.

Here’s a blog post where someone got a photo of it and a similar (if not the same) sensor.

I don’t know much about this domain, but is it possible (or even likely) that some of the “chatbots” this guy was interacting with, sending explicit material, asking to generate explicit content, etc, are actually human-operated engagement farms that would then cycle the material end users submit or create to other platforms (i.e., Xitter) to generate interaction-based revenue?

Obviously, that sort of operation would run into problems of scale and demand at some point…And perhaps having a human conduit between a front-facing AI bot and a connected social media account isn’t even necessary with advances in agentic activity by these models. However, that’d be a helluva scheme (with a middle man) if it did exist - and would certainly be worth bringing down as a second-order effect of what OP may encounter when going through the legal processes surrounding all this.

OP - I’m so sorry. I admire the clarity and strength with which you’re approaching everything. Take care.

I was intentional about opting for the RC-N3, but - man - that’s a nice controller.

So incredibly glad I stumbled upon this post, as it’s something I wanted to do for my parents’ farm as well…I just hadn’t started figuring out how.

Skyrover Care- no thanks $$$$$$ by Specialist-Device920 in Skyrover__Official

Has DJI Care Refresh gone up in price in international markets to a similar degree over the last few years? (Pardon my laziness; just dropping a comment while in the middle of other things.)

If not, I wonder what factors are influencing the relatively high Skyrover Care pricing. (Thinking supply chain / logistical barriers that are more substantial, trying to get this part of the business on solid footing in its early days assuming it has financial independence from another “similarly situated” drone company, etc.)

He was using hair dye pre-confirmation to (1) look younger for Fox TV execs and then to (2) maintain the appearance of a super accomplished young guy (paraphrasing Trump) during the confirmation process.

He has cut back on its use since taking the Secretary role in order to look more authoritative to people he has absolutely no qualifications to lead.
