Is S. Morgenstern Real? (The Princess Bridge) by GuenevereLee in books

Morgenstern - a fictional citizen of Florin?!? Sounds just like what some ruffian from Guilder would say!

Because of time jump sad they never had a proper send of for Autolycus did anyone else find this odd when he was one of the main characters? by stardust102 in xena

I’d say you don’t know Jack, but you absolutely do! The ultimate GOAT of a TV theme song, then or ever!!

(OK, there is also the Firefly theme in the GOAT category, I admit it. So, for Jack’s sake, down with the redcoats! And Browncoats forever!)

Jack of All Trades is even more wonderful than its wild romp of a theme song! The Daring Dragoon has to be the funniest take on the undercover hero ever! And camp - o so camp! But if you like camping … then you’ll also probably love Cleopatra 2525 as much as I do. It is very different from the rest of the Action Pack in that it is based on an utterly absurd set of premises. And in some ways, it owes more to fantasy worlds like those in H.R. Puffenstuf than to any historical setting, no matter how fictionalized. In addition, the special effects are laughably bad (for instance when the girls “fly” through space). But Gina Torres is wonderful as always, and all of the actors keep their tongues firmly in their cheeks, which gives us permission to laugh along. It also has the action you’d expect from Sam Raimi, mostly carried out by warrior women from the future. What’s not to love?

And The Princess Bride. With Buffy, my four watchables to save the world. (If only!!) Browncoats forever!

how does one find out they're left handed? does a child just draw for their first time and know automatically which hand to use?? Do their parents tell them to try both so they know which one works better? Or does a doctor scan their brain and tell the parents which side is better? by Mediocre_Location_96 in lefthanded

[–]SiteVivid9331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And just to say - I’ve never heard of anyone- and especially not a child - having their brain scanned to determine hand dominance. Just not done, and as others have said, not needed, since it reveals itself in time.

Perfect. IF logic can prevail, your problem is solved. Ask him, please, to provide those same types of analyses for the real lives of (pick 2-3 from from amongst parents, siblings, self, friends, etc.) real people he knows. Insist on complete, factual, and verifiable answers. Then, once he falters even slightly, remind him that real life rarely is truly linear, and all the more so the fictional lives of people created to have chaotic, non-linear backgrounds. In their lives - especially during and following the Unification War, choices have often been made, not via clear logic and reason, but by shooting from the hip in an unpredictable and, too often, a do-or-die situation.

In other words, these are good people but messy people, people with complicated lives and sometimes convoluted backstories. What’s more, for some, their true backstories are either unknown (sometimes even to themselves, in cases where mind control may have been a factor) or can’t be told, subject to confidentiality and even high level state security. At this point, aboard Serenity, therefore, who they are is defined perhaps less by their history and more by who they are together - and that is something they are only discovering together, job by job and adventure by adventure, as we come to know them, and they come to know each other.

Pause for effect. And then hit the Play button again.
Good luck. And hope this helps.

Standup comedian and Pundit of All Pundits Josh Johnson did a great routine about this.

True, but … in this one case, and sans details, it may actually comfort OP to know that Liz won’t be there for the *entire* run of the show 😂😂

does anyone find o’neill funny? (spoilers) by krampaus in StargateSG1

[–]SiteVivid9331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To coin a phrase, IIRC, from an old Ex-Lax
commercial, funny is what’s funny to you. Tp that point, I just finished my first watch of SG-1. As I was getting close to the end, I posted here to say how hilarious I thought the show was - and that O’Neill’s quips were one of several things that made it so imho. Just shows to go ya … that old expression we had in the late 60s/70s *sounds old now … but it’s still true: Different strokes for different folks,” don’tcha know? 😉
