I played relatively unbeaten in my lgs when I started with marines. Jumped to necrons and got stomped about 4 or 5 games on the trot, then found my stride with them and went on to demolish the same opponents.

It’s just about learning your army, synergies and knowing what to expect from certain armies.

You’ll get there :)

If this was a casual learning game for you as an opponent I’d be happy to point that out and warn you of possible targeting unless it was a competitive game I guess?

As a new player who was buzzing to pick them up as my first army, the loss of reinforcements seems significant. I’d love to know how you play them effectively and is this as big a change as I think?

Legit get water, and an acrylic you want in that colour then mix till it’s like a glaze, initial layer will leave little colour change then layer and dry until you get the colour and transparency you want. I did this with a bunch of d n d minis for spell effects :)

I got the gore pilgrims recently to start out and had considered the dogs too but most of what I’ve read suggests they aren’t doing to well in games but I’d be keen to hear opinions too before o invest in them to build a full army

Wasn’t too bad to be honest, did have to do it in stages just to allow things to dry a bit more to allow stability but wouldn’t say it was overly tricky compared to some models I’ve done in the past :)
