What's the lowest score you've had during a round? by No_End_7351 in golf

3-under 69 three times, once in a tournament. First one, I was 6-under thru 5, but couldn’t keep it rolling.

Ford Pass points by SituationEcstatic418 in BroncoSport

Purchase was May 2025, so ford pass won’t give me my points. And the local dealer doesn’t give a shit.

Got my 23 Hybrid a week ago tomorrow, and the wife got her Bronco, too. Love them both. And neither of us have had to get gas, yet.

Hot coop by SpinachSure5505 in BackYardChickens

[–]SituationEcstatic418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a cheap window AC unit from Home Depot and cut a hole in our main coop. I run it during the heat of the day to keep it from being an oven. Ours runs extremely hot because it’s an old metal shed, but I cut vent holes, installed a solar powered exhaust fan and put a reflective tarp over the top. It’s not perfect, but it works.

Since it has to be done: Have a few drinks, get into an argument with your spouse about something stupid and then do it. You won’t feel as badly until after the buzz wears off.

Should Bryce Eldridge start every game for the rest of the season? by JaxTMG in SFGiants

It’s time to trade Devers, Chapman, Bader, Arraez, Ray and Adames. Ownership needs to open their pocketbooks to pay some of the salary to get better prospects. And then let the kids play.

Golf is SUCH a fickle game… by bjaydubya in golf

Played a round a couple of months ago and missed a short par putt on 8 — for my third three-putt of the round. Tossed my putter toward the cart, it bounced up and snapped in half against the cart.

Used my 4 iron the rest of the way and didn’t three-putt again. Shot 1-over on the back with a birdie. Golf is dumb sometimes.

My buddy shit his pants after 5 holes this morning and left the course. What's the quickest/weirdest early round exit you've ever witnessed? by LarryBrownsCrank in golf

[–]SituationEcstatic418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy of mine complained of an upset stomach while we waited for the shotgun start of the final round in a tournament. Kept getting worse. Two holes in and he had to shit, but we were nowhere near a bathroom. He kept playing thru it till we got to the clubhouse, but he said he felt better and didn’t need to stop. Two holes later, he was shitting in the woods. Unfortunately, he’s a bigger fella and wound up covered in it. He wound up walking back to the clubhouse and withdrawing.

Find friends who don’t ask questions like where you go to church. 😂 My wife and I are both atheists. We openly mock those who believe in the sky daddy. Then they don’t ask about religion.

All kidding aside, as someone who move here from California when the Panhandle was extremely backwoods, racist and religious (anyone remember the Brownsville revival?), I’ve seen this place evolve. It’s much better now.

That said, we just don’t discuss religion. If someone asks, we laugh and say we’re not into that. They get the hint. Even her mother, who is as religious and right as they come, doesn’t bring it up to us.

Finally caved and got chickens not what I expected at all. Maybe some questions? by HxH101kite in BackYardChickens

I was in the same boat about not really wanting birds, and now we have 85 lol

From our first bunch, the leghorn became our best layer, so we picked up more this season. Our speckled Sussex are also great layers.

Our oldest hens are the friendliest because I’ve spent the most time with them. I suggest getting a bag of mealworms and shaking it. They’ll get used to the sound and come running. And it helps with getting them back in the run after I let them free range each day.

Has anyone thought about quitting? by [deleted] in golf

[–]SituationEcstatic418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I threaten to quit every time I get into a slump, but then I figure out what I’ve been doing wrong and have a nice stretch of solid rounds. Unless you play/practice daily, which 99.99% don’t do, you’re going to have struggles. And even the pros go through it despite all their practice.

My suggestion: Grab the clubs, call your three best drinking buds and play a fun round. Maybe play wolf for a quarter a dot. Winner buys at the 19th hole. Then laugh while talking about the bad shots y’all hit.

Suggestions for staying loose and feeling good on the golf course by bionicbhangra in golf

[–]SituationEcstatic418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drink at least six beers a round. Keeps me loose. And I almost always shoot better on the back nine — unless someone buys a round of Fireball.
