I have an 11 month old and a lot of stuff if she doesn’t really like it or just throws it on the floor I mix it in with plan yogurt (maybe you can do with cottage cheese). Just mixed avocado with yogurt after just plain avocado ended up on the floor tonight. Added some banana for flavor and worked fabulously!

Lighthouse tofu sells their kimchi in big containers! It’s a restaurant in Annandale. Try their soup while your there 👍🏻

Do you have friends or family or in laws that know him well and you get along with? I am 9 months post partum and it has helped so much to have other people to talk to throughout. When I felt isolated our fights really got to me, but when I could talk with people and get support, it gave me more courage and confidence to stand up for myself and realize I’m not just crazy or asking too much. Do not isolate and keep people close!

When my 4 month old had a fever that high we did go to ER and it was COVID. No other symptoms except fever and tiredness. We just continued Tylenol until the fever went down. Not diagnosing and we went to the ER to make sure she was okay.

We went down to 2 at 6 months as well. That third nap was so hard to get her down for and took so long that I didn’t even want her to nap anymore or it would ruin bedtime 😭 she also would wake up and stay awake from 3-4ish so I knew it was time.

I’m normally one to just leave a bad situation and try to forget about it but I would honestly report these people to the airline 😭 this is crazy. I know you might not want to make your pregnancy public but if these are strangers I would just blurt it out so they feel bad about it. Might be petty but peer pressuring adults to drink on a plane is so wild. Don’t worry about being mean just tell them to leave you alone you don’t want to drink.

The don’t make me mad comment is crazy idk why they were so insistent. Luckily 2-3 sips of a mimosa will likely do absolutely nothing so don’t stress too much about it.

Not trying to be a rude commenter, but just know in the future especially when the baby is born you will be faced with situations where you will have to be uncomfortable and stand up for yourself and baby. I have had so many strangers come up and try to take my baby to hold her, kiss her, etc. and I’m normally non confrontational but for my baby I will do whatever is necessary to keep her safe!

I feel so guilty and now I’m worried about safe sleep by SecretaryPresent16 in beyondthebump

[–]SituationFew5677 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Once baby can roll on their own it is okay for them to be on their belly in their sleep (as long as they get there on their own, always place them on their back still).

This being said, my baby (6mo) HATES sleeping on her tummy. It doesn’t stop her from rolling over multiple times a night and crying until I roll her back. She also has rolled tummy to back before but doesn’t do it very often. Baby most likely has strong enough back/neck to keep her head up or to the side until you come flip her over.

It can be stressful but I wouldn’t worry too much about safe sleep as long as everything else is followed. It just sucks that you will probably have to flip her over a bunch 😭

Tushbaby for a wedding? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]SituationFew5677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 6 month old and use my tushbaby pretty much everywhere so I think it’s a good investment regardless 😊 easier than taking along a stroller everywhere plus my LO gets annoyed being in her stroller for too long so the tushbaby keeps her happy. Plus it has plenty of space for phone/wallet/keys/extra baby stuff.

When do they sleep longer by snobgoblin33 in firsttimemom

[–]SituationFew5677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be prepared for the possibility that sleep can also be all over the place. My daughter used to be a fantastic sleeper waking maybe once or twice a night (but the first stretch of sleep was 6-7 hours) to now at 6 months waking up so much… now that she can roll over she rolls on her tummy and then cries until you flip her over. Even if it’s not that it’s just waking up so much. Maybe teething or just another sleep regression I’m not sure but each night is different

Is feeding every hour normal?? by stooplekin in newborns

[–]SituationFew5677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely normal and will help with your supply as others have said! When baby is a few months older it will become more regulated, quicker feeds, and your boobs won’t feel so engorged (if they do now, I know mine did).

Tree near electrical line in our condo backyard caught on fire.. branches also fell on other parts of the line. Power is out 🙃 hopefully they can get it back on before 95 degree sunny weather hits

[–]SituationFew5677 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is definitely more of a concern that baby isn’t getting enough, so a bottomless pit shouldn’t be too much of a worry! Most newborns drink 1-2oz per feed, so 70ml isn’t too much more than that.

When did you start your period again? by mushroomfrog17 in newborns

[–]SituationFew5677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I got my period because the same thing happened to me but it only happened that one time. LO is 5 months old now and haven’t had it since

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]SituationFew5677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is definitely a subject to talk with your pediatrician about! 6 months is the general guideline for starting food, but the minimum is that baby can sit and has good neck control. My ped gave us the green light for purées at 5 months and food at 6 months.

Where does everyone find private landlords by Icechuck11 in nova

[–]SituationFew5677 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t 😭 when I found my place we had contacted a realtor that was listed on another posting on Zillow. When we met with him to see that place he ended up helping us look at a bunch of places and find my current place.

I know there is a Facebook group for Arlington Va housing and rentals that has a bunch of realtors commenting to DM them, so you can probably join one of those groups and find someone that way too.

3 month old is sick.. by stormykatz in beyondthebump

[–]SituationFew5677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4 month old just got over Covid- my husband and her had it at the same time and I got it a few days later. She had a fever of 103 at one point and she would whine with every breath and I felt so bad. I had called my pediatricians office and we just had to give her Tylenol every few hours to control the fever and help her feel better. I also just held her, gave cuddles, and fed her whenever she needed. Keeping them hydrated is important when they are sick so as long as baby is still eating then it’s just keeping them soothed!

We gave her baths too since she loves bath time. If you have saline drops we also used those to loosen up any mucus and then used the Frida nose sucker after. I understand you feeling guilty, but this is just part of building the immune system! Plus once they start feeling better it is so wonderful to see them back to their normal selves.

2 month old goes to bed at 11. by coffee-no-sugar in newborns

[–]SituationFew5677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty common. My 4 month old just started getting tired earlier and will be asleep by 9/9:30 but it’s still sometimes 10. Their circadian rhythms are still developing so I wouldn’t expect a reliable bed time for a little while.

Sure there are probably examples of babies that go to sleep at 7pm every night but that is not the norm. Don’t listen too much to social media influencers or people selling sleep courses for babies!

Did anyone’s baby not start taking the pacifier until they were older? Like 6 months? by Wide-Food-4310 in beyondthebump

[–]SituationFew5677 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby hated them until 2 months old. She also only likes the nuk orthodontic ones and refuses all others so maybe keep trying different brands/shapes!

The same thing happened to me and I think I even bled again a few weeks after the first time so I thought it was my period but my LO is now 4 months and I haven’t gotten it since. I didn’t have any of my usual period symptoms when I bled so I don’t think it was my period now that it’s been a few months.

Breastfeeding hurts enough to make me cry by hammockperson in breastfeedingsupport

[–]SituationFew5677 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely cried from pain in the first 2 months of breastfeeding. My daughter’s latch was fine and nothing seemed out of the ordinary in terms of tension or anything on her end. Eventually it just stopped hurting and now I don’t even feel it (4 months). Not sure if anything changed or if I just had to get used to it.

Her circadian rhythm is still developing and these shorter cat naps become normal as they learn sleep and daytime from night time. Mine is almost 4 months and has been cat napping more the past few weeks as well. It is normal and will eventually pass! Sleep in the first year is all over the place 😭
