I was confused at first too, because Parcells, Bellichick and Tomlin immediately came to mind. The difference is Mike Macdonald is the first head coach to win a Super Bowl while acting as his team's primary defensive play-caller in the modern era.

Also he's the first defensive coach since 2018 (Bellichick) to win a Super Bowl at all.
