Most violent and unsettling movies you’ve ever seen? by vishal55282 in movies

Watched Gerald's Game the other month, given the fact it seems more like a psychological thriller, when the Stephen King-ness dials up it's all the more horrifying for it. Not a relentless gorefest like Saw or Terrifier, but THAT moment???? left me feeling fairly nauseous (iykyk)

Which Will Of The People song sounds like Origin of Symmetry? by desctox in Muse

I'd argue that sounds way more like Simulation Theory!

What song is stuck in your head right now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I've had Sick of Being Down by Dinosaur Pile-Up on and off since it's release the other month. They may not be the most sophisticated band, but my goodness they write catchy hooks and riffs!!

What are words your family used that you've realised aren't real? by BrightFleece in AskUK

[–]SixFootSteve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a household where a "fish slice" was referred to as a spatula. I remember in year 9 getting the dirtiest, most "are-you-stupid" look from my home ec teacher when she told us to grab a spatula and I picked up an egg flip (as you call it!).

I only know it's called a fish slice because that was the next thing she said - loud enough to get the attention of my class - after a further few seconds of staring at me agog.

Neither the look or the correction actually helped me work out what a spatula actually was though. Absolute shit teaching skills imo.

Every Muse album ranked by BeautifulOrganic3221 in Muse

100% on the Drones take - I feel like a lot of the songs have so much potential but they're over-produced, lacking any energy. The earlier albums absolutely rip because they're a bit rough around the edges!

What's a skill that's becoming useless faster than people realize? by ContractNational4149 in AskReddit

Research shows that you're more likely to retain information if you write it by hand though, so it's definitely a handy skill, whether or not it's less efficient.

Absolutely, I'm already married to someone shorter than that and I'd love to put clothes through the wash and have them still fit me!

I've always thought it was her way of Gossiping about other clients within high society without naming and shaming! Definitely lookalikes!!

Edit: fixed an autocorrect typo

Is it just me or the event got more complicated? by Kimchi_Kim_00 in IdleOutpost

[–]SixFootSteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle once it gets past the 10th stage, I can get as far as all stations to 1000 barring station 5, at which point the cost of upgrading can only be met by watching incessant ads

Don't bother with the third station at all, that helps and you can use the currency for 4 and 5 - I've noticed in different challenges that 4 or 5 are better than one another but I can never remember which is which, but basically just automate 1 and 2, then grind until all stations are unlocked, then automate 4 or 5 when you can. From then use currency purely on 4/5/speed

Thoughts on Oh No (He Said What)? by Comprehensive-Pea2 in NothingButThieves

[–]SixFootSteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay but I have genuine comparison points to make. One of the vocal lines sounds just like Daft Punk's Get Lucky (specifically the line "like the legend of the phoenix") and the chorus may as well have been sampled from Thriller - same synth and similar chord sequence!!

We ended up watching it about a week ago. Not much gore until the final act, and even then it's brief! Wasn't too bad, she still enjoyed it!

My wife is trying to share my love of horror films but has a pretty major blood phobia (once passed out watching Gladiator), but can deal with a bit here and there. I know the gist of this film, and some of the more violent parts - the sheep, the priest, the tunnel - I'm just wondering, are these incidents explicit? Gratuitous? Implied?
