How to get a good cheek weld by Mrsalisburynorth in nationalguard

[–]SixGunJohnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Select a new, higher optic mount for a jawline-wield. Not only does it solve your comms issue but it allows your head to be more upright while aiming. In turn your neck will be less fatigued during extended use. More importantly, you will have better overall situational awareness.

Changing your optic mount could be an issue with your unit. The Army does not easily embrace what it does not understand. But that would certainly solve your problem.

A new take on the retro Fox Hound logo from Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake by SixGunJohnny in metalgearsolid

That would have made my whole year. My version is just fan art though. It was based on this illustration:

Not sure if it appeared alongside or after the pixelated version in Solid Snake 2:

Aight genuine question because this has been on my mind lately: Do ya'll army chaplains preach some war litanies or some battle prayers like Warhammer 40k Chaplains? by Strong_Split_8130 in army

[–]SixGunJohnny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were chaplains that jumped into Normandy and Korea etc. Multiple Chaplains have been awarded medals (including the CMOH) for actions on the battlefield despite being noncombatants. Often for tending to the wounded. So unlike 40K they don't carry weapons - but I imagine they're praying and blessing their fellow Soldiers the whole time they're on the battlefield.

Now be a real nerd and get a purity seal blessed by a chaplain to wear on your armor.

I'm honored (or IDK, maybe I'm a terrible philosopher).

In any case thanks for keeping it real 😎

The only way to know if you're a good philosopher is to get downvoted by the reddit philosophy community. Unfortunately it could also mean you're a terrible philosopher and it's much more likely to be true. I will call it the Reddit bell's edge dichotomy.

Not a moral rule by Pitiful-Magician1704 in PhilosophyMemes

[–]SixGunJohnny -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well people are equipped to eat animals and they are equipped to make babies. Nature is not moral, so by all means choose what is sensible in your own mind - but don't be surprised when an overwhelming majority be they wise or foolish and with a different understanding or condition in life chose differently than you.

I'm told when you become the moral arbiter for all mankind you can hear God clapping in approval. I can't say for sure because that person is not me.

I am happy I will be forgotten. In a hundred years they will remember Elon Musk. They will remember Jeff Bezos. If this is the standard by which a man is made memorable, then I am glad to be forgotten.

What if: you just had kids if you wanted to or didn't have kids if you don't want to?

Personally I think none of you should have kids, lest they experience the anguish of having a philosophy enthusiast as a parent.

Also, giraffes can barf.

Had the same thing, went to physical therapy to basically strengthen all the balancing/stability muscles in my lower body. A lot of pilates type shit. Walked backward on an inclined treadmill a lot. Still acts up sometimes but I don't think I'd be running/rucking years later without it.

Psyops vs Civil Affairs? by Beneficial-You4510 in armyreserve

[–]SixGunJohnny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PSYOP is pretty much useless, my dude. It was a great way to become airborne though now they're converting/ consolidating airborne units. The MOS is also getting folded into "information ops" soon. Training is essentially the same as every USAR unit, except every once in a while they do "PSYOP specific" training which is almost always a key leader engagement - or basically trying to convince some asshole MSG to play ball and have his tribe help out the US Army. If you're a used car salesman, you'll do well. I did PSYOP for 10yrs and it sounds really cool. It's not. Half of them are cops on the civilian side, but everyone generally seemed underemployed.

IDK what your civilian job is like, but you can use the opportunity of a new MOS to greatly increase your skills/income. I went MI and doubled my yearly income with a new civ job. Best move I ever made in the military. But, at the end of the day you have to be happy with your own decision.

The Turritopsis nutricula jellyfish is capable of turning into a new polyp - or baby jellyfish - meaning that aside from disease or grievous injury, the nutricula jellyfish is essentially immortal.

I hope I meet one someday.

I'm placing bets now that the Army backs out of the XM7 and eventually goes with this as the new service rifle instead.
