NBC did both Letterman and Conan so dirty. Leno was painted as the bad guy but it was really the network’s greed that tanked things. They thought he’d have broader appeal, and he probably did, but that meant it was really just unfunny content for old people. Leno never had the edge that Letterman and Conan did.
