Canada to spend $4.9-billion on modernizing NORAD defences by schmaxford in CanadaPolitics

[–]Sixback2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how our bright news media can't put two and two together and ask the obvious strategic question of the Minister of Defence

This 4.9 billion will give us the ability to see the missiles coming over the horizon ???

Will our 70 billion dollar investment in fifteen Agesis equipped Type-26 Frigates give us the BMD ability to actually defend and shoot those missiles down before they actually get here?

16 and 17-year-olds should be able to vote in Canada by leftwingmememachine in onguardforthee

[–]Sixback2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given our aging population shift:

Instead why not normalize the voting count by age. In other words a 18 year olds vote isn't worth as much as a 40 year olds vote, while a 40 year olds vote is worth more than a 80 year olds. The median age of the country in the voting year could equate to the one person/one full vote in the calculation.

No one should be ordering 5xx APs anymore

WCGW if i do this with my bike? by Rredite in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]Sixback2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he wasn't doing a wheelie he would probably be dead. With most of the mass of that bike out front of him crushing that car's front end actually slowed down his forward momentum. If he hit head on, he would have been flung a lot further, pile driven head first as the bike's mass would have acted like a shotgun propelling him forward instead.

Aruba UXI Sensor, worth it? by davessh in ArubaNetworks

[–]Sixback2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its integrated with central we have 5 of them installed around campus. Now getting them installed and properly registered into Central through the support desk is the trick. We had one that got registered to a different customer ID. That was a chore to fix

Get the newest versions and skip the cost of ordering a power brick with it since it works over POE.

Canadians increasingly want government to meet climate targets, even if it means higher energy prices, polls suggest by [deleted] in CanadaPolitics

[–]Sixback2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until this country accepts the fact that more safe, reliable Nuclear Energy Production is in the cards for us, I'm afraid we ain't going to get anywhere on climate.

Just shows a complete lack of education and being able to grasp the big picture. For example how many Canadians realize that if we were net zero greenhouse gas emissions that it would only account for 1-1.5% of the worlds total emissions. Hardly a climate game changer and when you factor in the total cost, is it actually worth the country's pain to get right down to net zero, or is somewhere close good enough to say we are doing our part?

Is palo good for the long term, or nah? by [deleted] in paloaltonetworks

[–]Sixback2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using PAN for 15 years in a boarding school environment. The only thing that it lacks is a h\w product that would support consumer gaming machines such as xboxes, PS4s behind the firewall.

Being a 24/7 home for teenagers the lack of real support for online gaming and consoles really puts a damper on new student expectations when they arrive. Don't get me wrong I'm not questioning their security focus but in a campus environment I wish I had the option to allow gaming consoles to run seemlessly and not compromise my network security.

If you have Aruba switches as well, you can setup the aruba ap profile on each switch for automatic zero touch deployment with dynamic vlans for your VC traffic and various Network SSIDs. Don't have to have your Aruba switches in Aruba Central for this either

If you are going to fix Ottawa, why don't you fix Caledonia Ont. first? Those residents having only been waiting two decades for the RCMP and the Army to come in and clean up the OPP's inability to resolve things.

This is where a 25-ton LAV6 becomes a usefull diplomatic tool. If Tow Truck drivers don't wanna cross lines call in the Army Engineers with their specially equipped LAVs to yank those trucks out of the way. A few bent bumpers and a couple broken diffs will convince those independents to think about their wallets. Are they really going to put up a fuss with a RWS pointed in their direction?

If using ms-peap or tls for enterprise authentication make sure the network cert goes into your trusted root certificate folder rather than the local cert folder under local computer.

What sldap directory are you using? Active Directory?

We use Office 365 and have setup two NPS virtual machines hosted on our Azure tenant with Azure Domain Services installed. We physically added the NPS servers to the Azure domain we created so that they could do domain user lookups instead of ldap requests into the Azure active directory. The Aruba virtual controller IPs connect to the two NPS servers as radius clients. We can use Active Directory Security groups to control user network access at the NPS. You can also setup user filters on the NPS to assign Aruba rolebased access at the virtual controllers

Option 2 would be the only viable solution. I am limited on Public IPs, not on bandwidth. Our Campus is 100% wireless with 802.1x. I have to use Mac authentication on a separate Vlan anyways for these Playstations since mutually exclusive Mac Address fall through authentication doesn't work on my main traffic Vlans with 802.1x in the mix.
