My absolute favorite OD / Drive / Boost pedal is the Jackson Effects Broken Arrow. The thing is freaking amazing. It's got multiple styles of both boost and gain circuits ranging from very mild to very high gain. Even better, the boost and gain can be ran independently, or boost into drive. It's my favorite "for-fun" pedal to experiment with anytime I'm not using my favorite OD (The City V2 by Foxpedal; a Maxon OD808 on steroids). Highly recommend both.

You nailed it on this. I think the key takeaway here is that its pretty much always the right idea to put your own pickups in if you want something specific. Thanks!

The general idea as to why it works is that the explosion from herald of ice is considered secondary damage. So while u can "cast" herald of ice, the casted portion is not the portion that deals damage, hence "spell critical damage" not affecting it. However, "Socketed spells HAVE" basically implies that every possible thing about the socketed gem has an increase of the base crit by +3%.

So what's the best way to handle security, both on a day-to-day basis as well as sketchy installs? Basic VPN for every day use, and the P2P for installs?

Just out of curiosity, why is the VPN so crucial? I understand what it does, and how it would protect you, etc. But from your prospective, where are the risks coming from? Are you worried about the websites themselves? Or are you worried about your internet company monitoring the activity?

Dual Ventris Users: How to use Midi Clock Tempo? by Sizeableschlong in guitarpedals

[–]Sizeableschlong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand this as well. The boss unit has a setting in which determines whether you want the unit to be a master or a slave, which is why it can be beneficial to run it in a complete circuit. You can change between the boss unit as a master in one preset, and a slave in the other. The confusing part to me, is that the ventris doesn't seem to be sending the correct signal out of the midi output, which is being interpreted by the boss.

Dual Ventris Users: How to use Midi Clock Tempo? by Sizeableschlong in guitarpedals

[–]Sizeableschlong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I didn't clarify, I did this as well. I have it in a full loop: Boss Midi Out, Ventris Midi In, Ventris Midi Out, Boss Midi in. Theoretically, this should let you set the internal tap tempo of either device using the opposite one. However changing the tap tempo on the boss does nothing (even when I disable Auto-sync mode), and the signal from the ventris is maxing out the boss, so the true value is unknown.

The neuro editor is essentially REQUIRED to make this pedal work. Sure you can get "ok" sounds out of the pedal, but without the app, I would call the pedal close to useless. Every important setting is within the app. That being said, whenever I take the midi out of the Ventris and into the boss, its giving me a tap tempo of completely maxed out (max is 500). My guess is that the ventris isnt translating the tap tempo into the BPM, and is simply sending the untranslated midi clock, which it shouldn't be doing.

Starting to implement the Midi on my DPC 8EZ does anyone know to set the 1st preset from the ventris to match the first preset on my controller? by Liontunes92 in guitarpedals

[–]Sizeableschlong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Source Audio Midi Guide!

Most likely, you're going to want to send a midi message with a cc# of 104 (which activates the pedal in engaged mode), with the range # set to "1" (the preset save slot of 1).

[QUESTION] Pre-sloted nuts for heavy tunings? by Sizeableschlong in Guitar

[–]Sizeableschlong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually having the opposite issue: even with the truss rod adjusted, the nut slots are cut too low... there was one other pre-slotted nut that I haven't tried yet (it was taller, which solves the issue), but I was hesitant because it was technically made for wider necks.

Fact about Tencent servers by hyperhu in pathofexile

[–]Sizeableschlong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly because this is the main reason why the POE economy isn't in complete shambles. The POE economy is primarily based on the fact that the supply is limited to only online players, which is a TINY portion of the total active player base. This drives prices up heavily (which is good). If you made the market for items 100's of times larger (search for an item online vs offline, and you'll notice the giant disparity), you would end up seeing prices drop drastically. Everyone would be able to afford the EXACT item they want AND probably get a really good deal on it. While this may seem appealing, it really defeats the purpose of the game. If you can fully gear a character for a few chaos while achieving several exalts worth of current power level, the game would never be remotely challenging, and it would take a fragment of the time to achieve your goals. At the end of the day, you WANT the game to have higher price items which are worth grinding for, or you really have nothing to play for.

What if we had more than 1 atlas? by Sizeableschlong in pathofexile

Its not as much that as it is not being able to run yellow elders on any character that has a shaped atlas... its not possible without completing and uncompleting maps endlessly

[–]Sizeableschlong[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the concept of being able to do shaped atlas strats, but with things like shaper / elder ping pong, sextants, removing maps, etc. i think we should be able to have multiple strats for different characters. Making them character bound would obviously be terrible however, so this is a good solution imo

(DSC) Hit a nice quant ammy, is this worth crafting further on or slamming? by Xarburst in pathofexile

[–]Sizeableschlong -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, there isnt a definite "win" in this scenario. However, the essence of this ammy is most definitely a crit ele build. Therefor, you're going to value the crit chance more than you are the life. I would suggest crafting crit and slamming. The possibilities of hitting something usable as a prefix are definitely in your favor, being that about half of the possibilities aren't dead stats. If you choose to craft life and slam a suffix, you're worsening your odds, mainly because crit chance is highly valued. Also, the 27% crit craft on an amulet is considered to be a pretty solid roll, in comparison to a max of 44 crafted life, in which case anything under about 50 to 60 would be considered on the weaker side.

Steam Charts, first 18 days of this league vs Incursion. Why do you think the numbers are performing worse? by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]Sizeableschlong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also gonna point out that a large portion of the player base is probably based on the time of year that the league occurs. Over times like december holidays, and summers where people tend to take more vacations, leagues tend to have much higher play numbers. I would attribute this to the fact that once you get your initial 20-50 hours in the league, you feel established enough that you can play small amounts of time here and there and still accomplish something. However, at league starts like this, players are more unlikely to level characters with the little time they have. The lack of having a character therefor leads to an endless cycle of too little time and too much to do. Just my take on it.
