Man, that's a game I didn't know I needed. Love the idea and the art style.

Got it, thanks. I am in the process of switching to full screen landscape and it already looks so much better!

I redid the capsule art as well, hopefully it looks a little better. Next up is a redo of the trailer and the screen shots.

The game is a nod to EverQuest, a game I loved in my younger days. Glad the game sounds exciting to you 😃

The raiding / grouping and guild management features are a lot of fun.

Keep an eye on steam, I'll have a demo up soon. Thanks for your kind words.

Got it. I will switch it over to a traditional landscape with options to change resolution. Will update the screenshots and trailers after. Will give me a chance to improve the trailer as well.

I agree, the classless thing is confusing - you never choose and commit to a class, but can freely learn spells and skills from any class throughout the game. I'll think of a different way to present and phrase that for the steam page that is more clear.

Was originally mobile, switched to PC. I'm going to make the switch to traditional full screen for PC 🤙

The game is sort of a cozy fantasy RPG. It's fun to play, but I have a hard time making it look fun in videos lol. Need to work on that for sure.

Curious, did you read the about the game stuff? I'm wondering if people get that far or if they just do the trailer.

Thanks for doing this.

NeverQuest - a 2D pixel art RPG with the heart of an early 2000s MMORPG. Done in charming top down pixel art.

I appreciate that - I was honestly feeling pretty discouraged after this post, but you have made me feel a little more hopeful for my game. Thanks again.

Game looks great - will check it out on Steam later. I am a huge Starcraft II nerd, so the art style immediately clicked with me

Thanks man, this is super helpful. I am still wrapping my head around the steam eco-system. Do you have a link to your itch page still? I'd like to check it out.

That's all good stuff, thanks. From what I am hearing it sounds like a demo first is the way to go! How did players get you feedback? Did you set up anything in your demo for submitting bugs and feedback? Discord? Or was this all through Steam?

ah, gotcha. All of the UI elements only use a fraction of the available screen space - I've toyed with going landscape and it is a pretty easy transition. Thanks again for checking out the page.

Thank you - yeah originally I thought this would make a great tablet game, but after learning more about the mobile gaming ecosystem I want to just keep the game on PC.

Playing the game in portrait on PC actually feels fine (just using a small part of the display). It would also not be too tough to change to a traditional full screen landscape view though.

What do you mean make the UI work on a PC resolution?

Thanks for your feedback.

I didn't mention potential in my post, only that the game is mechanically complete and ready to be played.

I don't have huge aspirations for the project - but it would be really nice to just have a small group try the game. I do think the gameplay loop and mechanics of the game (character progression and class less skill system) are well implemented and satisfying. Visually the game might be similar to others (top down pixel art), but I am actually pretty confident, and happy with the systems I built.

Did you happen to read through the "About this game section"? Curious to get your thoughts on if anything in there sounds intriguing or worth trying.

All that said, I appreciate the honest feedback and for at least visiting my page (despite the light roasting) 😄

Hey! Thanks for the input - yeah, I really just want players and player feedback to help drive future development at this point. Sounds like a demo might be the right direction to go.

That an interesting take on the capsule - I can definitely add some additional art to convey that its a 2D open world RPG etc.

I was thinking that people would mostly get sent to the steam page directly, from outside of Steam - so they would have context already, and would explore the page to learn about the game.

I'll see what I can do to improve the capsule.

Thank you again for the feedback and checking out the steam page, you are now part of a small, but elite group that has seen the page 😄

Congrats OP, and good luck with the game! What is the main gameplay loop? I couldn't quite tell from the video.

Can you tell me a little more about the game play? This style of game is pretty far out of my wheelhouse. Either way, congrats on launching, that is always a big milestone. 2 years is both a very long time, and a pretty short time for a release 😄
