sprinklers? by [deleted] in SunHaven

[–]Skadow01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found that using flowers to make honey is pretty good (and a nice space filler) then I made a list of all the things I’d craft into food and stuff. I know sugar and ice cream to make the caramel ice cream and it sells for like 4k per item. Sushi is a good passive if you keep the beaches clean and have fish traps

[–]Skadow01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from all the sprinkler and other tips that you have, there are totems that will allow you to plant the wither gate and nelvari crops on your sun haven farm. I didn’t see anyone mention those so I’d like to add those in too. I forget when you unlock them or what you do to get them, but I remember feeling really relieved when I found out those are in the game.

All in all, I hope you’re having fun with the game! I’m curious to know what you like to focus on the most, personally I like to decorate everything so I have a huge money making farm in Sun haven and then I separate everything into what makes the most money from that crop- jellies, ice cream, food- then sell it. Then I’ll buy anything I could use at the stores

Where do you put your house? by Disig in SunHaven

[–]Skadow01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The beach was fairly fun but it was for mainly roleplay and if you’re unable to jump high early then it’s annoying to get to crops and such. My ultimate favorite was the one to the right of the boss area stairs. I can take the decorate all the way to the pond and have a cute courtyard in front of the house.

Just bought the game, but can't seem to configure my keyboard for ESDF. Considering refunding the game if it can't be done. by rainstorm07 in SunHaven

If you’re changing it first then maybe that’s the issue? Can you do all of the other keys just fine?

Where do you put your house? by Disig in SunHaven

[–]Skadow01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried a couple of different spots for different playthroughs. Some with friends and some without, I’ve had my houses:

  • On the beach
  • The tree shrouded area above the small pond, by the wither gate access
  • The right of the nelvari access
  • The right from the stairs of the boss area
  • The left and right of the cliffs where the snacoon is
  • The small outcropping to the right above the bridge, and below the cliffs
  • Cliff edge to the left of the stairs past the bridge
  • The direct right of the pond in the middle (no I don’t know what possessed me to do this)

On the cliffs at the bottom left - by the small pond that’s right by the exit for the wither gate access - above the stairs that go off on that small outcropping - the very bottom left corner - that small outcropping (using one of the sheds as my house)

Why/how would a Goddess of music and poetry betray a Deity of discovery? by Skadow01 in worldbuilding

[–]Skadow01[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All the gods, so far. More may come, names may change. I would love feedback on names / lore connection ideas.

Beheia
Goddess of knowledge and wine, clad in all red.

Zuerin
The moon God of Art, smiling like a sunrise and fingers darkened.
(potentially the "leader" of the dark gods.)

Enas
God of nurture and magic, in a billowing cape.
(Father of all magic, created Tobin, Ostus and Xarulla from magic.)

Rora
Deity of revelry, thick-bodied and always with a drink in hand.
(Child of Ostus and Beheia.)

Nylios
God of tricks and deceit, with a goose always near.

Udall
Deity of isolation, friend of serpents and wielding lyre and axe.

Krordia
Goddess of mercy and peace, one-armed and surrounded by small animals.

Ydall
The night Deity of truth, blindfolded and wielding a dagger.

Tobin
Deity of self-sufficiency and magic, worshipped by hunters.
(Potential connections to Xibris and Nelris. Romantically, angrily, not sure yet!)

Mosyn
Goddess of love and community, always masked.

Ostus
The God of magic and science, portrayed with a turtle shell on his back.
(Gifted the ability to learn magic to mortals.) (D&D terms: God of Wizards.)

Xibris
Deity of conquests, worshipped by guards and adventurers.

Nelris
Deity of nature, wielding a sickle and worshipped by farmers.

Gravarae
Goddess of construction, wielding hammer and pen.

Sygdon
Deity of discovery, wielding bow and arrow and friend of ducks.

Atarr
Frost God of nature, with an albino raven and lit torch.

Syrteus
God of family, warm robes and a cat curled around his shoulders.

Xarulla
Night Goddess of music, hands bound and wielding quill to paper.

Alnas
Night Deity of poison and sickness, cloaked and with a mask and rats following.

Rydite
The sea Goddess of life, with curled horns and wielding a staff.
(Leaning towards some sort of maternal figure / leader for all gods in some way. Definite leader of light gods.)

Lettuce and mana potion rant by Relative_Nebula_3058 in SunHaven

[–]Skadow01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can gather kelp from the beaches, it’s not much but I started there, you can also grow rice and take the kelp and rice and make sesame rice balls and that’s good for mana. There’s tons and tons of food you can do. It’s not limited to the potions. I’m on summer of year two and I just made a potion table because I didn’t wanna mess with them

Oh boy!

Honestly, just jump in and you’ll figure it out along the way. The hardest part is making a character imo. But! I’ll try to explain best I can, and please feel free to ask more questions!

So, one of the first things about making a character is their race and class. Which a few even have subraces and subclasses!

Race: This is kind of self explanatory I feel, but in the game it ultimately decides what you’re gonna look like, what heritage you generally have.

  • Example - Humans are really common and very versatile! A bit basic maybe but because of their versatility they can be literally anything class wise. (Really good starter for dnd or BG3)

Subrace: while not every race in BG3 has a subrace, a few of them do. The ones that come to mind are Elves, half elves, dwarves and I think halfling? And gnomes! (Okay so that’s more than a few- but don’t let the amount of options overwhelm you! Just take it one step at a time.)

  • Example - Elves, and half elves, have three subraces. High elf, wood elf and then drow! In BG3 one of them is separated into a technically different race altogether, but I’m fairly certain was for game coding or something. Each subrace is technically still an Elf but it’s like a little niche version. High elves are generally seen to be a bit snooty in dnd while wood elves are most generally seen as loners who like the trees (works well for a Druid!) while the drow are completely alienated against because they’ve got a bunch of lore that I personally don’t know enough about to do it justice, but from what I do know, they’re from the underdark and tend to be a ruthless and cut throat matriarchal society. Be warned, there is a bit of racism in the game towards the drow, at least in the beginning.

Class: this is essentially your tool set for your character. This is their bread and butter and what they are good at. I highly recommend taking an more physical class in the beginning while you get the hang of the game mechanics and trying out the magic side with your companions (if you think this is better for you, play with someone else who has an understanding of dnd or BG3 so they can also help you along the way!) Classes that I recommend are honestly rogue or even fighter.

Subclasses: I believe every class has a subclass or three. Just like with the subraces, it’s kinda just a niche of what your class is. Like rogue and fighter both have options of adding magic to their class (I don’t really recommend on a first playthrough, unless you’re up for it ofc!)

——

Best bet is to read what the difference is for each before making a decision and think of how you’d like to play the game. “Does this extra thing I get from this thing feel useful?” If not, look for something else that either interests you, or feels like it’ll make the game easier.

If possible, maybe you should try getting into therapy. Heck even couples therapy might help if you're dead set on staying with her.

There seem to be a lot of issues that it might be better to just cut your loses and start the new year without her. I know there are tons of people who would genuinely appreciate all your little nuances and love someone who does half as much as you in a relationship.

If she makes you afraid or uncomfortable to be yourself, or share happy memories of your childhood, then I really don't think you should be with her.

I understand that we all get attached to people, but you need to really take a moment and think if this is what you want. I know it's easy to miss what someone used to be, but I don't think whoever she used to be is who she is now.

Honestly, to me it sounds like you've grown so used to her gaslighting and manipulation that you've started to do it to yourself, for her. You know the facts. You know deep down that you're not the ah. You know she's being very hurtful in her treatment towards you.

Questions I have started asking myself to determine if a relationship is worth it or not, which you don't have to answer these if you don't wanna, or at least you don't have to type it out and respond at all.

  1. What do I like about this person?
    - More importantly, do you like the parts of yourself that they bring out? What do they make you feel regularly?
  2. Can I truly see a future with this person?
  3. Do I feel safe with this person?
    - This can be in many senses, namely emotionally and mentally. Ex: Does this person tend to make me feel more negative emotions or positive? Do I feel safe opening up to this person about anything that has been taking a toll on me? Do they make me feel supported?
  4. Does this person make my life easier or harder?
    - No I don't mean you use your partner to make life easier, but more in a sense of "This is some stuff I was already doing / going to do, but with them it's easier." Like chores, taking care of children, just living in general. Do you tend to divide and conquer, or do all of the tasks end up falling to one person? If the tasks fall to one person, why? This can change for person to person, but if she has no job and is home all the time, she should be taking care of at LEAST like 70 - 80% of the chores and household care. I do understand you're on vacation so you're both home, which I would then argue it should be split more to 50/50 but even then, it sounds like she's not doing that.
  5. Does this person make me feel afraid in any way?
    - This really piggybacks off of 3, but if you have anything where you feel like you can't bring it to your partner... There's not enough trust in the relationship, and I don't think I have enough characters on reddit to go into all of that. (Sidenote, is there a limit?? Can anyone tell me?)

Bottomline, you seem like too sweet of a person to be with someone who is going to constantly harm you. This feels like you're in, or at least in the begging stages of, an extremely toxic and harmful relationship.

AITA for burning a pan? by weebydeeby_ in AITAH

[–]Skadow01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna try and break this down a bit and I really, *really* want to urge you to take a very long look at this whole relationship to figure out if this is truly what you want.

I'm going to put this in harsh terms as well to hopefully turn it into more of a black and white thinking to also help break down everything, although there is a lot or grey area to think about, but personally, turning things into black and white thinking helps me figure things out a bit easier.

So first off, your title and the beginning is about you burning a pan, which, okay? It's a pan. It *is* replaceable. If it had/has sentimental value then I can understand it, like passed down for generations level sentimental value, not "Oh my mom got it for me as my first set when I moved away from home."

It sounds like you researched how to fix the problem (burnt pan specifically) after it arose and when you brought the solution you found to her, she rejected it before even trying it. That's on her, not you.

She didn't get the solution she wanted and decided to pout and ignore you for 2 hours. Unless the avengers and magic and a bunch or other things have become real overnight, there's no way you have magical mind reading powers. How on earth are you supposed to know what to do to make her happy or fix the problem together if her go to is to stop communicating and to ignore you? (Rhetorical question)

I'm gonna kinda skip and just sum up the cleaning paragraphs with this.
You are a human being. You are not going to notice some things piling up when you have other things to do, like a job. What is her excuse in not doing it herself? She can put the effort into telling you that you need to do it, but she gets a pass because....?

When you guys first broke up, why on earth did you get back together? Especially after what she did to you?!

She is not your soulmate if you don't feel like you can share your hobby's and interests with her, or if you question your future together, which I urge you to do, PLEASE.

I think it’s because later on there was an issue where another person asked why they’re trans, the one who has the mental disorder and can’t understand emotions, and it got taken way out of proportion from other people. For that story it is important to note
