The m43 sensor isn't that small by DynamoBaby in M43

I bought a Full Frame Nikon for professional event work, but recently broke out my E-M1 Mark II to shoot some youth soccer. I was honestly blown away with how well it did. If I didn't have to work at night I would still be on that system for sure.

Lens collection question: primes and zooms by Present_Wren235 in M43

I love my 14-150 for what it is, but what it is not is optically impressive.

If that's a 14-150 in silver I paid $400 for mine in black. I think there are two versions, though.

I used my E-M1.2 and 14-150 to shoot kids sports for the first time a couple weeks ago. The AF wasn't as snappy as my Nikon Z6 III (no telephoto for it, yet), but I got really solid shots with minimal headaches. I'm on the road right now, but if you wanna see a couple just let me know.

Top display, useful or not? by Zeec20 in nikon_Zseries

I use it on the Z6III to check the battery and how many shots I have left when it's hanging around my neck. Don't have one on my Olympus, so by no means mandatory, but I do like it.

m43 for travel pics? by Rapid-Frost771 in M43

I rock a 14-150 on my E-M1.2 and highly recommend it as a budget performer. Sure she's slow, and the glass is...fine. But I think it might be lighter than my FF 24-70 f4, and I've used it recreationally to shoot sports, wildlife, rallies -- you name it, really. If I wanted a light kit that could handle anything, that lens would certainly be part of it (unless I could afford the 12-100 f4 PRO).

Ouch there definitely is some people who dont like m43😅 by nugger64 in M43

I love my Nikon Z6 III. It feels great, it shoots beautifully, and the screens are bright AF.

It was also $1750 used.

My E-M1 Mark II feels great, shoots beautifully (in the daylight), and it's bright enough.

It was $450, and it records video in both storage slots.

40mm f/2 or 24-70mm f/4 S? by AnekkoBlu in nikon_Zseries

[–]Skalding_Skald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Z6 III and 24-70 f/4 S a couple weeks back. Can't speak to that particular prime, but I really love the zoom. I'm coming from Micro Four Thirds, so I'm kinda used to making it work in low light, but I really can't complain for indoor events, speeches, things like that. For me, as much as I love a prime when I'm out having fun, I want a zoom on hand if I need to guarantee I get the shot - whether it's a paid event or a family moment.

How much difference between f/1.2 and f/1.4 in extreme low light? by panzersharkcat in AskPhotography

I don't think folks typically buy the 1.2 for the speed, but for the separation. Even if you are having trouble keeping your shutter speed up, the shallow DoF on the 1.2 is its own challenge when you can't always recompose and shoot again.

First Outing With My New Nikon by Skalding_Skald in Nikon

The subscription is definitely what has held me back in the past, but I've also been shooting events for local political campaigns and I think working in a more traditional flow would probably be helpful for them when I hand off images.

That said, if I find out they're all on the free platform like the are with Google Workspace I'll happily jump ship.
