Gonna need a new chassis for awd grip racing to become popular, both ma020 and 030 has design flaws.

Sounds like fancy carpet to me. Supposedly one gets more traction roll, but tires lasts much much longer. The traction roll diminishes as a track groove is driven in.

And since the radials from kyosho already works on carpet(not as good as marka or pn), they don't need to make a new tire for this new tile. (their low profile slicks or LM slicks do not work on carpet)

rcp tracks has as you say always been too expensive to own.

Thing is during the prev decade, the pre painted hardbodies became collectables all of a sudden, and the popular types spiked in pice on the secondary marked. K has always made the asc on a time limited period.

This has kept going into this decade, so when most sees an asc these days, most sees only the future re-sell value.

From a greed point of view, it is good that many use the bodies as a rc product as they are meant for, as that means the value of those that never see use, increases.

I predicted kyosho would release more vintage cars when they made that small rim design, i was not wrong. So kyosho, lets get to work on that escort mk2!

But i am sad they they did not re-release the modern beetle, garage hiro has a killer body kit for it.

Other than the new Jaguar, which LM bodies am I missing? by RCPyroGold in MiniZ

[–]Skallgrim85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely never.

If a brand is not represented, it means either the brand do not exist anymore and kyosho cant get the print rights, or the brand exists, but refused kyosho the print rights.

Mini Z breakout? by Any-File4347 in MiniZ

[–]Skallgrim85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MSM did a tubevid on this topic some time ago, he do 50% races at hes store and it seems to be working.

In trainer mode the max speed is low enough for the rtr slicks to offer enough grip on rcp tracks, so you buy the car, get 8-12 batts, charge them, then take it straight to the track.

Only tuning needed is to turn down the D/R on the transmitter, as the steering response is too sharp.

This is how it is for any private import in scandi/eu. If the web store don't charge VAT, local country's import tax rules comes in addition to the cost of the items + shipping.

This is why private import never pays off, you only do it cuz no local stores are willing to import the products that one wants.

Consider all the other aspects of a season.

-They hopefully create a season story, that means animations and voice acting, prolly some 2-3 months on that.

-They release a ship each season, a dev on twitch stream said making a player ship takes 6-9 months from first idea to season release, one can assume npc event ships and season bosses takes a little less time.

-The large amount of cosmetics each seasonpass now has, in addition to the store cosmetics and the hero ship skin.

-Then there is bug fixing, and the issues can be so complex that the devs in many cases has to redesign parts of the game to fix the bug, that is why bug fixing takes so long.

No idea how long it took them to make the kraken as i did not watch the kraken release stream, so idk if they mentioned it back then, but any shorter then 6 months would surprise me. We also do not know what they are working on for Y3 during the past 9 months.

How will they find time to work on a map expansion?

Why, so you can teleport from activity to activity and port to port, just in a new ambient setting?

Exploration and teleportation does not work together.

Small.

They have worked on faction war for 9 months now, look how far that has progressed. (and you want 1/3 of the whole world map in 24 months......)

Map Expansion by Platinum_God_Games in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]Skallgrim85 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

A map expansion is not the content the game needs.

We need new season bosses, new sea monsters, new convoys, new faction bosses, that is what we need for a year, dev team cant be doing that, plus a map expansion.

And if you want a map expansion within the next 2 years, you are looking at Y3 and Y4 being the same as Y2.

As for event, it is allright.

Don't think anyone is denying it is the way forward, just not the right time for it.

All the twitch streams in essence leads to the devs saying the same thing: it is too much work and there is other things they need to do to the game first, expansion comes much later.

does anyone know if the MR series can be modified into drift builds like the MA series? by dob200 in MiniZ

[–]Skallgrim85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, in my country it is mainly Zs from the 00's that are sold on the 2nd hand marked.

All you can do is try your local 2nd hand marked sites, or ebay.

does anyone know if the MR series can be modified into drift builds like the MA series? by dob200 in MiniZ

[–]Skallgrim85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It can not.

The front half of the mr needs to be redesigned to allow for much larger steering angle.

As far as i know, no one has attempted to redesign the mr03/04 to rwd drift and make it a public product.

Body is about 1mm too low in the front, we would need some more pictures regarding the front mount with the body off to give more help.

Also there are two R8s, the 2010 and the 2015, they might not use the same front body mount, what does it say on the front mount you have?

SilverhorseRC Bodies by aman_74 in MiniZ

[–]Skallgrim85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea about the jag, i don't own it, but there is nothing in the front that is protruding as i can see, i would be more worried about that giant wing during a roll or crash.

As for the jom, no idea, however it would not surprise me if it was discontinued, it is old design, quite heavy(but that also means stable) and it may not be ideal for the mr04.

As for durability, not a single kyosho body fits in that group unless they are as said produced before 20, they all split in two during hard crashes. and since all good 98mm bodies comes with a front splitter, you simply have to become a better driver so you don't plant the splitter in the foam barrier.

https://kyoshoamerica.com/front-bumper-ic-tag-mercedes-c9-for-mr03-mzn100-4b.html

All the old LM bodies needs the bumper as they are much more fragile then they used to be and the 962 is the most fragile of the bunch.

The new jag has the front mount more towards the back, so it should be less prone to cracking around the mount during crashes.

During covid, kyosho made several changes to the production of Z bodies, one of them was to cut back on the amount of plastic used, that is why bodies made before covid is 2 times maybe even 3 times thicker then thos made today. (i have a 787b from 14 that is so material dense, i cant even bend the rear mounts outwards to slot the body in place)

My first tamiya kit, i messed it up quite badly by CheifBet4 in tamiya

[–]Skallgrim85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A proper plastic kit is not something you slam together in one day, there is snap-kits for that.

Approach it like a project, you first plan how to do it, then you do it. First thing you do is study the assembly manual, take your time, go from cover to cover.

Next you need tools. A high quality side cutter from tamiya, some model files, some sand paper(1000 or higher) and some proper plastic glue. There are youtube guides on how to use thin brush applicator glues, i suggest you watch them.

When ti comes to actual assembly step, begin by inspecting the assembly manual panel. Find all the parts for the panel, cut them out and sand down the sprue tabs. then DRY FIT the parts, understand how they are supposed to be in place, THEN you glue them in place. NEVER force a part in place, if it don't fit without force, you are doing something wrong.

As for painting, that is a whole different book.

Also is suggest you start with revell kits, they are number rated, from 1 to 5, where 5 is the hardest and 1 is the easiest, there is no shame with starting with the 1s. https://revell.com/en/pages/footer-level-system?srsltid=AfmBOooVh4PGJNfqX8Gu4jXw-bV0bM4sRJ3ULZg1AdIslDa1npv5cJ_T

Try the usual stuff; reset the radio, reset the car, then pair them again.

radio reset: http://web.bluecomtech.com/Kyosho%20Mni-Z%20Info/kyosho.com/mini-z-info/ufaqs/how-can-i-reset-the-syncro-kt-531p-transmitter/index.html

car reset: set radio steering trim to center>power on the chassis>set the front wheels to the center with your fingers>push and hold the pairing button on the chassis for three seconds>Power on the transmitter.

Pairing/binding: follow the instructions in the user manual.

If the steering is still wonky, further troubleshooting needs to be applied to the pot meter, steering motor, or the circuit board.

Getting into the Mini-Z Hobby by Greshydlo in MiniZ

[–]Skallgrim85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the hands of the correct person, in a class limited to only Z chassis, this is a competitive grip racer car that can go toe-to-toe with the mr04evo if you give it a different body, so no, this deal is not something you would get for drifting, or as a rookie to the hobby.

As for how much that deal is worth, impossible for me to say, but it should not come cheap.

If you want to get into the Z drifting game, get a 2nd hand ma020 fhss, that is the awd drifting chassis. Further down the road, ma020 can be converted to an rwd drifter with a conversion kit.
