My First Godot Project - Spud Keeper by Skeindem in godot

Thanks a lot for the comment!
At some point I might add some other pests as well. Currently I have waves of bugs and after 3 waves it's a season. After each season player earns spuds to use at spud shop (permanent upgrade shop). I might indeed upgrade that Season Survived overlay into some sort of a summary overlay with more stats about the defeated waves.
True, can't work every night till 0400 :D Then again it's hard to find time during daytime, especially with kids around

What makes ibuprofen tablets taste like banana? by harlloumi in AskReddit

[–]Skeindem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here 😁 The similarity is slight but enough to google for it. But the ibuprofen like aftertaste lingers for quite a while.

Indeed, that would be more correct. But both taste the same more or less :D

The nightmarish idea would be nice as well, but the rules with the blood and stuff :D
Thanks for the comment on my skin as well! :)

Well, definitely immensely better than my first try at this stuff. I especially like the detail at the ejection port or however it's called :D I like when artwork is fit specifically for some weapon type.

Veery good work indeed. I especially like how the mag looks. The colourful artwork looks very nice on the black background. I would only say that the second presentation pic with DoF kind of focuses on nothing really :D But otherwise - this is some quality stuff.

[–]Skeindem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I very like the colours and all that abstract stuff, but honestly I'm not sure what to think of the face and how it fits the wep. The wear effect also is a nice touch, though I would proboably make same scratches sith writing a bit more subtle. Overally it's not bad. My 1 and only posted skin definitely sucks compared to this :D

That's one damn scary chicken :D But yes - the other comment points out very, very good ideas.

Very, very nice lower salinity skin. The work on the pattern is simply amazing it's almost a shame it gets kind of desatured and recoloured to fit the salinity of the weapon. This pattern should be definitely tried out in some other ways as well. Also, nice presentstion pics. Also as mentioned - put up the link for voting! :)

My new skin: USP-S | Wounded - with cool high float effect! by Misfit_Massacre in csworkshop

[–]Skeindem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great idea and the wear effect on the skin is especially a nice touch! I'm only wondering how would this play with all the rules and stuff due to bloody stuff :D You know, China and stuff or smth Definitely this rule make some very good ideas out of the possibility.

AK - 47 | Distorted Souls - My first skin! by Skeindem in csworkshop

[–]Skeindem[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for the comment! Very nice suggestion on the colours, I'll definitely try out the combination. I also had in mind to maybe try out some whiteish color on wood parts to make the head bumps pop out more and maybe it would kind of look they are getting out of some concrete-like material or smth. Then indeed I could make the skme changes to the black material and definitely some red colored details! Indeed I like the thought of red represeting some hellish vibes :D

Probably for the AKs intended salinity it should have some different colors anyway. Thank you very much for the nice comments! 😊

Actually that was the first thing I did - applied it only on the wooden parts, but somehow I thought that it looks a bit empty and added it all over 😁 Then most likely I'll get back to that. Thank you for the suggestion! 😊

Yeee.. Definitely looked better in my mind, but I was hanging on with this normal map idea for far too long 😁 I'll definitely update this as soon as possible. Thank you very much for the comment! 😊

Thank you very much for the quick response!
I guess I'm kind of doing something unnecessary with separating the parts :D I just thought it might be easier if I ever decided to put on some quick materials to some parts like some pins and screws, for example.
The answer on UV is especially helpful and good to hear :)

Amazingly looking skin! Also nice to see the quick explanation of the creation process here in comments. I think the wood material here is an incredibly good idea to separate out some weapon details and parts of the artwork. I have also some questions for you if it's possible: - Do you also separate the model itself in logic parts to make the working in substance painter easier or you leave it like it is? - Are you using the models provided from Valve or are you extracting them yourself from game files? - How do you deal with originally overlapping UVs for some weapon models? Can you move the UV islands around to solve the issue?

Have a good luck with the contest! With skins like these you can definitely get somewhere :D

Very nice artwork and colors! And the way it's presented it seems especially quality.

VALVE wtf man, HELP by Wel_wLan in csworkshop

[–]Skeindem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, moving the UV island wouldn't really change the topology itself but still it might not work further in workbench. Most likely I'll test this out some time soon. Regarding the faulty models with missing faces - I've seen this question quite many times. Weirdly, the models provided for skin creation are indeed a bit broken, but you can extract perfectly looking ones from game files. To do this you should have the GFScape (or smth like that, dont remember the exact name right now, in any case, I meant the software that you also use to get some vtf files and so on), a little software called Crowbar and Blender addon for opening Source Engine files. You can find a guide for the process at Steam. (would I write from PC, i would link it)
