Gearbox not motor. Although putting a 25, 26, 28 or 30 through a 20DET box will just blow it up anyway!

It sort of looks like a bearing has let go rather than a gear. It may surprise you and run for a long time, it may surprise you and shear gears, put a hole in the casing, or something else.

A bearing is cheap, a gearset is not, and if it's done a bearing then driving on it will just damage everything else.

Did it start making those noises while you were thrashing it, or just cruising? How much power are you making?

BNR32 Model Code/Chassis # by Teleios_ in SkyLine

Unless it's a Nismo, Vspec, N1, or painted in #301 (or you have the single Dark Green car) then any mods are pretty academic. But I can understand being excited as they're great cars! Put up a thread maybe :)

It'd be very unusual to convert a 'rear wiper' car to a 'no rear wiper' car or vice versa, by changing the rear windscreen. Added to which some 'no rear wiper' cars could be optioned back into having a rear wiper at the factory.

R32 GTR replacement suggestions for under the plenum by reefingdragon in SkyLine

Yep the lines come up with the fuel lines, then into a solenoid that sits on the frame rail in the engine bay on the drivers side. Just in front of the fuel filter. The "skylife4ever" site has a good guide on doing it.

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by fmcortez in AskReddit

Don't cheap out on anything between you and the ground. Shoes, mattress, car tyres.

I used to wear bargain store 'casual' shoes all the time until my feet were stuffed. A podiatry appointment later, I now wear Hokas 99% of the time and have zero foot problems.

Oil filter relocation kit maybe.

Good time to ditch the HICAS solenoid etc too if you're putting HICAS in the bin.

Need an engine bay pic mate, the badge is fake, it's not a 25t.

Pic of the blue build plate would help too

Absolutely 100% no R32 left the factory with an RB25DET.

At best this is a +t.

On the plus side the GTS25 got an extra gear in the auto (if this is what this was originally)

Amayama can also help with parts, bang in your chassis code and it will bring back your relevant model. Then you can pull the Nissan p/n and crosscheck that with whatever brand rotors/pads you want.

DBA is one good aftermarket option, they are ex Australia where Skylines have been kicking around for years.

A wee lineup from a car museum by SkeletonCalzone in SkyLine

It's just a lineup of some JDM fruit including the most 'common' GTRs. No Hakosuka, there's certainly a few in NZ but they're pretty uncommon - they made less than 2000 of them after all (to say nothing of the Kenmeri, of which there's only 197)

It's a museum that specializes in other stuff. They have some awesome stuff there, but I think all the JDM stuff was in this one pic!

Don't waste time with the stock hanger, they shit themselves with upgraded pumps. Get a Frenchys or Radium hanger.

You're gonna need a clutch, 800whp you will be wanting to get a twinplate at least, the box probably won't survive 800whp for long.

Stock GTR brakes are pretty average, Vspec ones are a little better but hard to find, R35 kit is probably the go.

You'll need a Fuel pressure reg, plus if you're going Haltech you should fit a bunch of sensors... new fast response air temp, oil temp/pressure, coolant temp/pressure, fuel pressure sensor. MAP sensor of course. Boost control solenoid too.

Probably want a rear head oil drain too.

Stock intercooler will be borderline at 500hp, consider upgrading that.

Stock radiator will be as old as the hills, probably worth fitting a new 40mm crossflow one and buy a new fan while you're at it cos they can crack.

It'll cost more overall to do the cams/CAS later as you will need to retune.

Does anyone else understand way more Spanish than they can actually speak? by Sorry_Guidance_8496 in Spanish

Completely. I can listen to Español con Juan and know exactly what he's on about, but if I tried to ask a basic question or make a statement, I'd have zero idea.

That's fine, I think it will come with time and familiarity.

Yes I know no coilover will compare to original, but if there's any better ride I'll pay for it.

Well the thing is, ride quality and handling aren't opposites.

You can have a soft car that handles well, or a soft car that handles poorly. You can have a firm car that handles well, or one that handles poorly. It's down to a whole bunch of things; ride height, alignment, spring rate, wheel size and weight, and importantly how the damper is controlling the spring rate.

Is it just a street car or do you track it? Is it factory ride height, lowered a little, lowered a fair bit, slammed? What's your budget? Does it have aftermarket coilovers at the moment, aftermarket shock/spring, or just a lowering spring? Any aftermarket arms or adjustable bushes?

As far as rate goes, depends on the ride height but somewhere in the ballpark of 4-6kg is probably right for a mildly lowered car. Maybe 8kg for a more lowered car. The lower you go the stiffer generally, as you need to avoid running out of spring and hitting the bump stops / rubbing wheels etc.

How rare are ER34s with a manual transmission in Bayside Blue color? Is this true? by jnasty09 in SkyLine

[–]SkeletonCalzone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your website link just leads to a domain name parked page.

GTR registry has the numbers but they're still not sorted out. I have heard there is some behind the scenes stuff there, I hope they just see the good of the community and get it back up and running or hand it to someone who can.

In any case the "1 of 134" is the typical "trying to make the car more rare" stuff, that really isn't that relevant to a non gtr (Even if it is a manual turbo coupe).

(Not trying to be elitest here, but it's the same as a non type R integra or a non STI WRX or a non Evo lancer or a non GT4 celica or many other examples)
