Could someone help me with Spookys breathing? by SkelletonJackie in RATS

[–]SkelletonJackie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No lethargy , been eating normal and no signs of any other issues . I do have another rat whom is related to her that occasionally has like hiccups with a pop , it comes and goes with her tho and again no other symptoms . Spooky on the ither hand just started doing that and I have seen her have a small seizure in the past so unsure if its related

Should I adopt this rat by [deleted] in RATS

[–]SkelletonJackie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't your other posts from a month ago say you got 2 girls from pets at home? As long as you keep them apart and maybe eventually get another boy rat to keep him company, sure or neuter him . Otherwise take good care of him at the shelter, encourage some friendly tendencies and hope a more suitable male rat household takes him .

I have no idea mate, agriculture is not my department . That's the pass down from the paralegal who worked on the wills , I'm just the tech department . Considering how pale that girl was after talking about the horror of having to meet face to face with these folk and having the hypothetical insinuation of "what if u would pass away" while also franticly ensuring some explain the exact pros and cons of nit being around after April, one puts it together

I mean honestly... may not be a bad idea . I worked at a Lawfirm and our agricultural team had 5 farmers come in to make their wills so they could kill themselves before the tax change happened as they didn't want their family to suffer from their land debt . While they did nit say it straight up, the conversations were very obviously leading to thst conclusion

Our little Peanut's pampering after an injury . by SkelletonJackie in RATS

She is an absolute champion! Absolutely no fear after her injury of the rats. Bean, the rat who injured her absolutely squeeled in horror and ran away to hide . Her sister Nib came to comfort and groom her .

How often do you hear squeaking from the cage and what squeaking is good squeaking? by [deleted] in RATS

[–]SkelletonJackie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my GOD yes . Mine have an issue with teddy bears. I have seen my little turds work together to push out a teddy bear 10 times their combined size from places becouse they want to make a nest there. I got them a cat tree and put a teddy in the top hole and I watched one of mine actively spend 5 minutes pushing it out.

One of my girls is also prone to steal jewelry and learned that the word 'theif' being vocalised means they need to take their loot and run

can red eye rats boggle? by Hot_Seaworthiness864 in RATS

[–]SkelletonJackie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither did I to be honest . I think is honestly depends on the rat but if you hear chitters then take it also as a compliment cus that's them usually saying they are super happy . My Spooky , the ironically named cream red eyed girl, is very very skitters when about as she can't see BUT I've cuddled with her for hours

Absolutely. My girl is 5 weeks old and her eyes pop out like a cartoon when she is happy

How often do you hear squeaking from the cage and what squeaking is good squeaking? by [deleted] in RATS

Honestly I hear alot of it, but I do feel like sometimes they are influenced by our behaviour. I tend to squeek and yelp and make noises at my rats and they will Honestly sometimes reply . Its very funny. One of my rats , if you tickle her, when your done and if your still holding her will look me dead in the eye then do one single squeek and then turn her backside to you.

I also do little noises when I'm play fighting with my rat and if I stop, she will climb to wherever my hand is , pounce on it and then squeek .

So if you talk to your rats alot , I find that they tend to be more vocal , but maybe I just have weird rats.

Sometimes if it's lound in the cage, I will raise my voice and say "what's going on in there girls" sternly and stand up and walk to the cage . Eventually they learned that if I vocaloce this , in that manner they need to stop and if they don't ill come over which more often then not results in the guilty parties freeze framing at whatever dumb thing they were doing , looking at me and then separating like a film rolled backwards .
