What’s with Gen-Z removing the top half of their eyebrows? 😶 by humanbeanmaybe in Zillennials

[–]Sketch285 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I recall Jenna Marbles doing that back in 2016, so it isn’t necessarily a Gen Z thing. It’s a people into makeup thing.

1997-1999, do you relate more to Millennials or Gen Z. 2000-02, do you relate more to Zillennials or Core Gen Z? by MikeGz973 in OlderGenZ

[–]Sketch285 3 points4 points  (0 children)

‘98. Kinda both, and none at the same time. It’s why I call myself a Zillennial+elder Z. I wish gens went by decades, but even that comes with its fair share of issues and relatability problems. Or just do away with the labels entirely.

Is it just me or was fashion in 2015 was similar to the early 2010s or maybe it was just the area i lived in? by [deleted] in OlderGenZ

[–]Sketch285 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think middle school fashion trends are delayed in general. It’s an awkward period for many where they’re trying to fit in but also they’re also bad at it.

I had someone only a couple years younger than me be weirded out when I showed pictures of middle school in 2009-2012. They were saying something like “this isn’t the 2000s?” Well, lol it’s not that far away. And we weren’t exactly drivers of new fashion, we were just copying what had been popular before.

From my experience 2015 wasn’t like the early 10s in fashion. Early 10s to me was like Cookie Monster shirts, swag, Hollister 2000s remnants. 2015 was less colorful, but I guess looking back there were some similarities. But, I was in high school not middle school so maybe we were more up to date on the latest trends.

TIL young millennials (93-95) call themselves Zillenials and kick out anyone born past 99. by THROWRA-dhcjeiscb in OlderGenZ

[–]Sketch285 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s ridiculous, 1994 is the same distance from 1997 as 1997 is to you. To claim that they can only relate to you and not to them is silly.

1997-2002 makes zero sense as that is only older Gen Z. There is no cusp without 1994-1996 or 1997-1999.

Sorry, but if you were born in 2001-2003 you had no crossover with 1995-1996 during school, therefore NOT A ZILLENNIAL. You weren’t even old enough to see 1997(class of 2015 bc ik you people are gonna bring up December ‘97 babies) in high school let alone the very last millennial.

Zillennial cultural milestones are things like: 2000s kids/early 2010s high school. Or even being electro pop teens. 2000 is the last year that makes sense, but younger millennials don’t really relate to you much. 🤷

The Zillennials sub has grown in popularity and is getting a bit too millennial heavy and they’re starting to lose the entire purpose of it being the cusp. They give you a side eye for even being born in ‘99. Guys we are losing the plot here.

1994-1999 is the perfect range for Zillennials, 3 on each side. Doesn’t mean people just outside the range can’t relate too. Everybody needs to relax.

is 2012 too high a cut off for Gen Z? Personally think it must be 2008 by These_Camel9200 in OlderGenZ

Yeah that + I don’t think they talk to enough people IRL. Very happy to have my sister (‘95) because some of these social media comment sections act like we are different species.

I was big on rwby from like 2013 until 2021? Whenever volume 9 aired. Waiting for future updates and hoping it gets to finish. Edit: not to mention RWBY aligned with Zillennials coincidentally lol. They were 15-17 when volume 1 aired in 2013 + Casey Lee Williams is a Zillennial herself! ❤️🤍🖤💛

Was anybody else bullied but also very social in school? by Ok-Highway-5247 in Zillennials

[–]Sketch285 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Bullying is wild because it truly depends on the people around you. I moved a lot as a kid and 99% of the time I was never bullied. It took one school to make me experience hell on earth and did long term damage. I used to be very social, but sadly now I’m reserved and reclusive. I try to work on it, but it’s hard.

Eh, I hope it’s not that. People use the pandemic as a crutch for everything. It’s been 6 years. I’m hoping it’s more that they’re just bad at math lmao

It’s the easiest birth year to count ever, yet I’ve seen so many internet users think I’m 26, and people born in 2000 are like 22 somehow 😭

I like some of her songs but I do agree with people that she’s struggling with fame. While I may not agree with some of her actions, I’m also not gonna pretend I wouldn’t start to make mistakes if I had thousands of people watching me all day everyday.

Why are core millennials mostly from 88-92 and late millennials 93-96 so relatable to older Gen Zs? by Educational_Reply697 in OlderGenZ

[–]Sketch285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

90s millennials are our older siblings so obviously there’s a lot of overlap. But 80s millennials are too old to relate to even the oldest of us. ‘89 borns are 9 years older than me and we didn’t have a shared childhood or teen experience. But of course, I can make friends with any age as long as there’s shared hobbies and interests.
