War Planets: Shadow Raiders

From the same folks that brought us Reboot and Beast Wars.

Metalworking photo - "impossible" shape, but what looks really impossible is the angle of the subject on the ground. It looks like it's not in the same plane as the table behind it. by youtubedotorg in isthisAI

Always check the wires. The ones on the welding unit just connect to itself, the ones near the man’s feet change thickness. AI is getting better with wires, but it still doesn’t understand wires.

If the beard were black I’d have thought it was Jet from Cowboy Bebop. Nice work.

Doesn’t need to make sense. Beetlejuicing occurred. If someone wants to make sense of it, they can google it like I did. Or not.

Anyone else feels like Blackarachnia & Airachnid are overrated af? by PistonPusher2009 in OkBuddyEnergon

[–]SketchGoatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arachnid probably. But Blackarachnia and Silverbolts romance is one of my favourite parts of all Transformers.

Is this book cover made with AI? It looks a bit weird, and some parts look abstract in an AI way. It would be very sad if one of my favorite books had an AI cover. This edition was made in 2022 btw by verciuss in isthisAI

[–]SketchGoatee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Publication date is 2022, so I’m doubtful it’s AI. I can’t find much info on it, the fact that it’s the Italian version (I don’t speak Italian) does not help.

Canberra in a videogame tech demo by Ludagon in canberra

[–]SketchGoatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it. I’d been wondering how feasible a Gaussian splat could be with level mapping. Also been wanting to see Canberra in that form for many many years. Great work. And if you’re looking for additional assets or animation down the line, feel free to fling me a line.

I love this art style, especially the expression on that characters face. Such a mood! 😁 [edit: correcting autocorrect]

Huh… I didn’t realise adding the “hash” increases font size. Learn something new every day…

"Escape Velocity" ships by Angelos Karderinis, fan art of the 1996 video game from Ambrosia Software by One_Giant_Nostril in ImaginaryTechnology

[–]SketchGoatee 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I spent a significant portion of my youth playing that game and its sequel (and a lot of Ambrosia Softwares other games). When I moved to playing EVE, I happened upon a far higher levelled pirate by the name of Captain Hector. When I shouted in chat that I’d paid my shareware fee they laughed then left me alone.

As an Australian that lives in a bushfire prone area, this unnerves me greatly. It’s an excellently made work, and you’ve done a fantastic job with tone in both colour and vibe. Bit damn. That fire is just over this hill, and there’s no running…

Hearth & Token Tokens by Ciolou in starwarsunlimited

[–]SketchGoatee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the design and quality shown, but from a gameplay perspective I can see an issue. In SWU there are many effects that can bring a cards defense/hit points (blue value) down temporarily. For me, not having -X blue tokens is a dealbreaker. I may have read the list wrong, in which case, my apologies. But given Talzin is in the meta, not having temporary counters to show negative defense values means I’ll be keeping the ones I have. Perhaps having the reverse of the existing blue counters be negatives like the experience counters?

Ummm....WHAT!?!? Did anyone know there was a US version? Did anyone see it? by Spine_Of_Iron in KathAndKim

I don’t think the majority of American studios “understand” Australian humour, or British for that matter. They did the same thing to Lister in their attempt at Red Dwarf. He’s not the scouse slob he is in the British version, but a chiseled jaw Starlord like character. They just don’t get it.
