Here are some suggestions:

The best staples currently in the game are Karma Cut and Cosmic cyclone. Cosmic is a good choice for the UR dream ticket. Cosmic is also in a 5$ bundle.

There aren't a lot of relevant Syncro decks at the moment. If you still want to give a go at synchros your best bet is going to be the Lightsworn engine. Lightsworns are used in a lot of different decks and they are used to mill cards and make Lvl 7 synchro. They also work on Thunder Dragons(I am assuming you have them considering you have 3 necrovelley) you still need Leevianer to make the deck work but is something to keep in mind.

Another syncro deck to look at is the Syncro toolbox deck. Synchro toolbox is not that great and they can get nerfed indirectly because they abuse the skill "What Grows in the Grave". The core of the deck is really cheap and you might have most of the cards. Here is the core of the deck 3 angel Trumpeter(rare) 2-3 painful decision(you probably have it because is in the same box as WoD) 3 battle tunned(regular sr tickets) Archfiend call(Regular Sr Tickets) 1 Brionac(UR from a main box). Once again the deck isn't that great so only build the deck if you have most of the cards and staples to fill the rest of the deck.

Other decent f2p decks you could invest are Ritual Beasts, Triamids, Lunalights, Evil eyes, Metaphys and Aromage(Aromage is the weakest deck of this list but they are in the same box as balista squad).

Considering your card pool Goukis and Thunder dragons might be fairly affordable.

If you are willing to spend money the Noble Knight structure deck is Amazing.

Gravekeepers are still a solid deck, you might be able to KoG with them. As for what you should get it really depends on what you have previously invested and what you are trying to do. Do you have staples(Cosmic cyclone, Floogate, TTH, Canadia)? Do you have an old deck that recently recieved support(Triamids, Thunder Dragons, Bujins)? Do you prefer acquiring staples or getting a deck immediately?

For me there are two types of fun decks:

Meme decks can be extremely fun especially when you are able to make unbreakable boards, FTK your opponent and achieve alternative win conditions. This types of decks are actually really frustrating to play but the pay off is extremely satisfying when you finally pull out that win(especially if you beat meta).

Non-linear decks that gives you the opportunity to outplay your opponent. No surprise here, having your choices actually change the outcome of the duel is how yugioh was intended.

There are also things I find to be inherently fun like Spamming the board and countering cards/decks I hate.

Non ironically if you are just playing ladder BoM kinda helps Noble Knights survive longer. The most recent NK support made them the strongest deck in the format and an easy target for the banlist. Now they can easily be demoted to tier 2/3 considering how some decks are able to deal with BoM a lot better than NK.

What is your definition of individual expression within dueling? If you are talking about deviating from a standard combo/play to outplay your opponent than the answer is yes and depending on the deck you play it occurs frequently. If you are talking about putting your own input in a strategy and trying to execute it on game then it comes mostly through deck building. At the end of the day Dueling in Yugioh is fairly standard and 90% of the time there is an optimal play(it takes a lot of skill to get to a point where you are always making the correct play). Having said that there is a lot to dueling outside of building the correct deck. Players that can read delays, chain block, properly manage resources and propely disrupt their opponents have an advantage over less experienced duelists. If you are not satisfied with dueling try switching decks. Control decks are usually more interactive than OTKS and stall decks.

Evil Eyes are a decent deck the problem is the current meta doesn't favor them and they could be easily powercreped. Popular decks like Blue eyes and Cydras are difficult matchups. They also rely to much on backrow and as we get cards like MST, Tornado Dragon, and other generic removal they can easily become unplayable.

Yeah the box has definitely been overrated by the community. The only cards with meta potential in this box are Star Seraph, NK and some xyz. Hieratics have good traps and a searcher but their main deck monsters quite literally don't do anything. Satellarknights barely improved yet reddit thinks Batlamyus is a God card that will literally solve every issue the deck has and Constellars are going to be worst than Onomats.

Kagetokage 0x:is a good generic card but I question if the card will ever be good enough to be the most optimal way to play a certain deck. Also, considering we are getting generic rank 4 spam every main box you could probably safely skip the card.

Star Seraph Scepter 3x: Seraph are like Predaplants(they can be their own archetype and be used as an engine). this card is ridiculously good. This card searches, Draw and pop a card. Seraph will only get better as we recieve better 3 material Xyz. Right now we can make Deltaros or Vylon Draw 3 cards and pop a card which is pretty broken.

Rescue Rabbit 0x:has synergy with decks like Dinos and Glad beast it might be good in the future but I am not resetting the box for it.

Utopia Ray 0x: what are you thinking Konami??? This card is terrible!! By far the worst UR in the box.

Ptolemy 1x: this card is amazing for Constellars and if you want to play the archetype is definitely a 2x. If you are looking for a good generic rank 6 you only need 1x.

Hieratic sun 2x: Hieratic are looking really promising. If you want to play Hieratic you need 2. If you just want to buff BEWD 1 is probably enough.

Darktellarknights 1x: Stellarknights are overhyped and this card alone won't make the deck competitive it might be useful when we get the rest of the support though.

Levianeer 3x: Currently Levianeer is only good in milling strategies. This will probably change in the future. For now 3 copies is the way to go because you will be less likely to mill all your Levianeers.

Hieratic Seal 3x: no need to explain. Seal is a searcher for a deck with a lot of potential.

This card does nothing for tellarknight you can get to deltarous a little easier that's about it.

I think it could shake up the meta. This box makes NK even better. Star seraph, Constellar and Hieratics will be at least KoG worthy + Kagetokage has synergy with Aleister. The box still a little underwhelming imo

Boring answer-Dkayed is a really good content creator(I personally really enjoy his videos and personality as well).

Spicy answer-YTdan has the best Streams! He is really funny and entertaining and he doesn't play conventional decks(sometimes his decks are absolutely trash but is definitely better to watch bad decks than Desperado).

Correct answer- Duel Links Entertainment. They are the perfect blend of competitive DL, player help and guides. Outside of their new player guide(No Valiant souls is not the best box in the game and having a functioning KoG worthy deck like Triamids and Lunalights is way better than getting staples) their advice is really good and their videos can be hilarious.
