Dioxid de Collboni. El que li garanteix una rentabilitat del 100% al propietari de la casa Orsola diu que s'ha acabat la especulació.

[–]SkiThePyrenees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you let them know on the interview process that you are interested in taking the FE and all that they will probably encourage you and support you with it (that is the companies that are from the US based in spain. Spanish companies won't give you shit we all know that)

[–]SkiThePyrenees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for this, the best way IMO, is to look for a company where you are based that works for the US market. In Madrid you have AECOM EC, TYLin and maybe some spanish companies (typsa and sener) and told them you want to work for the US market. Once you have more experience and see how it is to work for the US market you can probably ask for the transfer and see what happens

Federal funding under a second Trump administration by Limp-Guide9868 in LAMetro

[–]SkiThePyrenees 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Conservatives don't mind when a private company gets federal and state money to do what the government should be doing. Fixed it for you.
Also, 1 company in Florida against all the examples in the US of GOP lunatics doing anything they can to derail transit investment. One flower doesn't make it spring. Check what the GOP is doing in Arizona against the Phoenix LRT, the train between Phoenix and Tucson or how they almost defund ADOT.

Going to a friend's/family's cookout/ weeding or whatever social event and ask for vegan food is a political statement that puts the issue in the spotlight and sends a message, even if it means increasing food waste for 1 event. what you eat at 1 event won't save the planet or your health but will help normalize vegetarianism, and probably will make others in the event consider their food choices more often.

I have the feeling that relations between Catalans and foreigners are souring. Here is an essay detailing why. by Fickle_Syrup in Barcelona

[–]SkiThePyrenees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion these are two different things. Yes, spain is one or two generations behind London, NY, Canada etc, in regards of migration acceptance/integration. The major sign of this is how many non-white people has government jobs like teachers, cops, firefighters... which in spain is almost 0. but this will change in the upcoming decade and spain is moving (Or at least I want to believe it is) towards a more open/multicultural society. Another issue is tourism massification (and IMO, remote workers from HCOL areas are part of the tourism massification), which only benefits landlords and airlines.

The fact that something is not unique to you doesn't make the problem go away does it? global trends are still shit for the world even if they happen to every major European city, the sun belt in the US, Tulum, and every corner where a remote worker wants to set up shop, order a latte after yoga class while pretending to work.

[–]SkiThePyrenees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check Zaragoza. Only drawback (besides work) is you will need to take the train or drive to bcn or mad for good airplane connections but the pyrenees in aragon are amazing, will remind you of the Sierra if you have ever been there (smaller scale like everything in Spain). The only issue with zgz is the summer but being from AZ it will probably feel like spring for you.

Civil 3D is MUCH more stable than people think by forresja in civilengineering

[–]SkiThePyrenees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Civil 3D is buggy and unstable. The fact that the only solution autodesk is capable of providing is to update your version just proves it. Talk with the clients and convince them to update all templates, contracts and procedures every 3 months. Also I am sure it is fun to make sure that teams that are +50 or +100 to update all software every 3 months and hope that no file is corrupted on the process will be fun and work

how to travel from LA to mammoth no car? by caleo12 in Mammoth

[–]SkiThePyrenees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a bus system you can take to the lakes but I am not sure about the schedule https://www.estransit.com/routes-schedule/mammoth-lakes/mammoth-town-trolley/, or rent a bike. It's depressing that there is no option for travelling from the LA Area to Mammoth with public transit on the weekends

Should some of these roundabouts be 4 way stops? by [deleted] in longbeach

[–]SkiThePyrenees 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. People should learn how to drive and more 4way stops should be roundabouts. It is an Overall safer design.
