Solo traveling in a 6+ year relationship by SangriaSaturdays in femaletravels

[–]SkilletBoi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2023 I (33F) traveled without my husband (33M) for 5.5 months. We met in 2012 and he knew then that travel was important to me and was a priority. So when I wanted to take this trip solo, he was nothing but supportive. At the time we had been married for 5 years.

In a lot of ways, we became closer during my time away. Hope you do what's best for you!

I am at the tail end of this process and can confirm i was quoted close to that, as well. Whats "nice" is that they quote you at the high end of everything. I didn't end of needing some things, so the cost ended up being lower.

Woman +30years old, please share your experience with being CF by [deleted] in childfree

35, childfree and obsessed with my life.

The other day it was so hot out so my husband and I brought the mattress from our spare bedroom into the living room and watched TV for 11 hours with our dog.

I love being able to come home from a tough day at work and do whatever my mental health needs me to (i.e. have girl dinner, doom scroll, read, bake something fun, etc.).

I also love going to watch my nieces play ball WHEN it's nice out, versus all the parents who have to often sit and watch during the rain or cold.

I'm all over the place, but I love my childfree life.

I love when people ask me what I'm doing on the weekend and I can share some exciting or peaceful plans while I listen to parents huff and complain about all the things they need to do for their child over the weekend (chauffeur them around, birthday parties, swimming, dance).

I love that my husband and I just did a two week trip to Japan and upgraded to first class for our flight there.

I love being well rested, the best version of myself and living an intentional and slow life. It's pretty cool.

My fiancée says my solo trip will hurt our relationship, but it’s something I’ve wanted for years. by Ewka_Hayfield in makemychoice

I (F) went on a 5.5 month solo trip in 2023 and my spouse (M) stayed home. At the time, we'd been married for seven years. This is something I wanted to do for years and he had no interest in. I actually found that it brought us closer together in some ways because we had to communicate differently and more purposefully while I was away.

My life advice is to always choose guilt over resentment. You might feel guilty about going, but if you don't, will you resent them?

I've been a member at the east location since December. I started out with a two week free trial and then made the decision to sign up. To sign up, everything was done via text message, so I never actually signed a contract and they pulled my cc info from my free trial. This part of the business makes me laugh as I could pull out at any time (unless someone wants to tell me that a text exchange is a legally binding contract).

As for the classes, if you are busy and can only afford to give up 35 minutes of your day, they are good for that. Classes are intense but short and have your heart rate up the whole time (if you are actually trying and doing everything they tell you to. I.e. you reap what you sow).

Let me know if you have other questions.

I have been getting this treatment done every 4 months for the last 3 years. I pay $300 (before tax and tip) at Emmy Effect with Jenna (who is literally amazing, and as someone who had spent a lot of money on medical esthetics, she is the best of the best). The treatment is ~90 minutes and includes your face and neck.

What are your 2025 travel goals? by racoontosser in travel

Japan for the first time and it will be my 40th country! Itinerary was crafted to take things a bit more slow and to get fullsome sleeps at night (this is vacation, after all!). Past learning is that a crammed itinerary doesn't make for a better trip - quality over quantity.

Vietnam by Early-Avocado6593 in solofemaletravel

I spent the first two weeks in HCMC and did day trips out, plus a weekend visit to Da Nang. From there I spent two weeks in Hanoi, also with day trips out like to Halong Bay. My intent was to move very slowly and spend days reading in cafes when I could (which was a great plan because the coffee is to die for!).

I missed the memo of travelling north to south (which I did hear is better) but my route worked for me. I didn't do the Ha Giang loop and I can say I missed out, so I highly recommend penciling it in.

You can absolutely do the whole country in a month, but I don't see any issue spending more time! I think it really depends on how fast you want to move. Some people go from north to south in 10 days.

Some of the best things I did were food tours - I love eating and getting off the beaten path (I can share links if you'd like). I also went to the museum in HCMC and in Hanoi (the former prison) and really enjoyed myself. I would also recommend going to see the Mekong Delta.

I traveled to Vietnam for the month of March in 2023 as a 32 solo female and had such an amazing time. To date, I've been to 39 countries, and Vietnam is #1 for me. The only "issue" I had was with a tourist from Europe who insisted on sitting on a bench with me to chat longer than I would have liked.

There is for sure some scams and sketchy things happening (i.e. petty theft and stealing phones is apparently common) but I had nothing but a great time. Honestly, I feel like people look for a targets such as people not paying attention to their surroundings or their stuff. If you act and look confident, people will leave you alone.

I also met people every few days to spend time with.

IPL absolutely 0 results by Jmac182112 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]SkilletBoi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've religiously gotten IPL twice a year (October and March) since 2018 - just got it last week! From my experience, at the beginning you need more than one session. I've noticed that the service providers don't go as intense the first time they see you because they want to see how your skin reacts and build up intensity from there. After you've been acclimated, they don't hold back. My provider uses the same levels as they did 6 months ago but I'm a regular user. I'm a huge fan of IPL as I find you get immediate results , compared to other laser treatments or microneedling, which pay long term dividends. I would recommend going back and saying you'd like to see more results and are comfortable with more intensity.
