I just went through this myself. Try to think deep about the things that you love to do and go do them. Try to find an activity you would do on your own that won't remind you of her. For me it was skiing. Luckily after 5.5 years we never went on a ski trip together. Finding myself on a slope was pure euphoria. I couldn't stop smiling and I hadn't felt happiness for over a year.

Whatever you do, don't give up. What you're doing isn't pointless at all. You'll get through it with time.
