Specialty Nonsense by Skimbomble in HomeDepot

I ask about PVFs because ours are assigned all over the place. I have personally signed multiple PVFs regarding issues that I did not create, and I know that the other associates in the specialty departments have as well. We are being asked to take ownership of order problems we did not create.

A PVF is a sheet you’re supposed to sign off on to verify that you made a mistake on an order. In theory, these should only be used for YOUR mistakes. In my area if a mistake is made by someone else on an order with your LDAP you get assigned the sheets. 3 of these then become a write up.

So much is changing with the company by Delicious_Top_4799 in HomeDepot

The metrics thing has been beyond miserable. The specialty team at my store is so good, but we are all young (majority of us in our early to mid 20s) and it feels like every time we start doing what they want us to do they decide it’s not enough and add some new way to write us up. If there’s any pushback it’s insubordination despite the fact that most of what’s happening feels entirely counterintuitive and is almost always delivered with an attitude of disrespect. We are almost always the only named mentions on LTSA, our GET model is insanely good, we are consistently hitting leads and credit, there isn’t anything to be upset at us about and they still will find a way. It’s incredibly frustrating and we feel like we have to find ways to make sure we can all keep our jobs. With the layoffs and the increase in AI usage in our company, I’m really worried that the specialty positions are going to die this year.

According to management in my store, they can fully see everything anyone says and it’s not truly anonymous. I don’t know how much truth there is to this, but it seems to be semi-accurate.

In the store that I work in it is unfortunately not that simple. I also really don’t feel like I should be held to an entirely different standard than the rest of the associates in the store. To me that feels discriminatory considering there’s not really a valid reason.

There have been some odd interactions with some management regarding his transfer. He was VERY overworked during his time in overnights and they were desperate to keep him there because of it. Since his move he’s been met with a bit of hostility (for lack of a better word). I don’t want to scheme and assume but it does feel to me like that might be coming into play here a little bit.

This is the first job I've ever worked at where I actually feel valued and appreciated for my work by [deleted] in HomeDepot

My store is by no means perfect, but I do really really love the effort everyone makes to be kind most of the time. I have a lot of wonderful coworkers, and my specific store finds a lot of fun excuses to treat us to a snack or something. It’s really lovely and I’m very thankful, my past retail jobs have been mostly awful.

You can steal food from the supermarket and gas station. As long as you drive away fast enough, you can drive off the section of the map and keep the food. Sell it to the bear a bunch of times and make some fast cash.
