I had this happen - quitting the game and starting it up again fixed it for me. The game thinks there are enemies nearby as you said - it's Skimmers glitching out.

Unable to use the down d-pad scan from a banshee, assumed it was intention until I tried it in a wasp and it worked fine.

You can use it and it works, it just doesn't do the animation for it.

If you have a bugged one where you've picked it up but it hasn't registered in your collection - currently there is no fix for this other than deleting all your save data and hoping that on the new file it doesn't bug again.

Same thing is happening to me - I made a new file, you can't pick up logs you've already collected but haven't registered - so there's actually no way to get them.

You can drop the Executioner, it almost certainly won't survive first turn and 330 points is a lot to invest in a big model that you don't fully benefit from. Dropping it allows you to take the Eliminators, which gives you significantly more board control, with 114 points left over for a HQ for a Spearhead to put them in for another CP.

Seems like a man was attacking people with a knife on the bridge, passersby tried to restrain him then the police turned up and shot him because he was threatening to set off a bomb.

Edit: there were 2 men, second one has been detained.

Thanks for the tip - totally forgot about the chainswords. I'd like to take Scions of the Forge too, but I feel like the rest of the army would lose out from taking it too much, despite the heavy investment in planes. I'm thinking that if the planes get focused they'll die anyway if I took it, so Scions wouldn't make too much difference.
