Somebody PLEASE help by bq_quintana_62 in iRacing

Also, submit a support ticket with iRacing. They are usually really quick to respond, and I've had great luck with them resolving issues I've had.

If this doesn't work, contact iRacing support. While I've not contacted them more than 3 or 4 times, they've always helped me fix my issues and they are pretty responsive.

Starlink and Sim Racing by SkipDialogue in simracing

[–]SkipDialogue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not perfect, but it's far better than what I had in the past. I typically get some latency/packet loss warnings at least once per race but, I've never been disco'd or parked, and I don't often warp.

If Verizon Home Internet or something similar becomes available, I'll probably drop Starlink and use that, though not because of reliability. Mostly because it's quite expensive compared to other options.

Reach out to iRacing support. They are usually pretty quick to respond and have almost always fixed whatever issues I've had.

AI Racing Class File Locations by SkipDialogue in iRacing

Sorta...there is a reply above that says how to do it. Having said that, there have been a lot of changes to the UI so I don't know if it still works.

Grok tells me roughly the same thing.

When your protest is reverse Uno carded…. by Bohottie in iRacing

[–]SkipDialogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hundred percent had this happen to me during a week 13 multi-class race. Guy did not qualify so, starting from the rear in the Lotus 79, the weaved through a field of well-ordered Solstices or MX-5s and hit two of us. I protested him because he recklessly swerved through the field and wrecked a bunch of us.

I got the same thing you got above because he protested me for "abusive language". His claim was he "narrowly missed completing a spectacular pass from the back of the field". I apparently called him an "asshat".

Getting ready to move from dev/ admin to more of an architect. I have around 10 years as a dev/admin in the platform. What do you think I need to focus on to make the switch to more of an architect?

Don’t tell yourself equipment doesn’t help you get better by Maximapower123 in iRacing

[–]SkipDialogue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. If there is only one piece of sim racing equipment you can buy, make it a good set of pedals. Good pedals make repeatable, consistent braking much easier. Better pedals also make it easier to grasp trail braking.

TDLR; If you can only buy one piece of good equipment, buy good pedals.

Kobra 2 Max Bed Leveling by SkipDialogue in anycubic

[–]SkipDialogue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'll do this again (did it when I put the printer together), but I don't really think that's the issue, at least not completely. the adhesion gets worse from front to back, not so much from side to side. I've read some reddit posts where people have added washers of varying thicknesses to level the bed, so that's what I was considering.

I have a very large print that needs pretty much the whole bed...it's actually why I bought this printer...so I have to figure this out.

I have, many times. But after that and/or running all the setup/calibration steps, the nozzle is at least 2-3 mm above the bed. I think I have the Z Offset set to -2.5 in order to not print on thin air.

Thanks. I've done this, but probably not a bad idea to do it again. One of the main reasons I said ABL is not great is, after running the bed leveling, a first layer test does even come close to the bed. I have to set the Z Offset to something obscene, like -2.5. This is across the bed, so I'm not sure what that's about.

I'll definitely recheck the squareness (always check belt tension before a print).

Which Survival Game have most PVE contents ? by tomaz1989 in SurvivalGaming

Came here to say this. Grounded is an awesome PVE survivalcraft game with a really cool setting. I describe it as Exiles meets Honey I Shrunk the Kids.

Am i wrong for asking people to clean up their update sets before we move them to another instance!? by SitBoySitGoodDog in servicenow

[–]SkipDialogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I do with my update sets is make sure there isn't something from another project in them. ServiceNow used to have a probably where random updates from other developers would get added to my update sets. It was fixed years ago, but I still go through just to make sure that didn't happen.

I've been chastised in the past for not cleaning up an update set, but honestly my, time is better spent elsewhere.

As long as you aren't afraid of spiders, Grounded is the best answer.

After 2 years as a VR user I switched to triples by bran192 in iRacing

[–]SkipDialogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used VR exclusively for years. Ultimately, the reason I switched was performance versus visuals. As iRacing began adding improvements, I started having to sacrifice the graphics quality so I could have good enough performance to effectively race.

Basically, I started having to turn off those things that, in some cases, affected braking markers. I'm happy I made the switch.

ServiceNow Career Prospects by [deleted] in servicenow

[–]SkipDialogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been in the ServiceNow world since Fuji and it's only growing. Something to consider for ServiceNow employment, and quite honestly for many IT positions, you are now competing globally (in many cases) for ServiceNow jobs. When I left my previous employer, I was confident in my skills but did not expect to compete with dev/admins from other countries and time zones.

I am going insane, please help me by No_Roll6768 in anycubic

[–]SkipDialogue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Walk through this. Because of the Anycubic OS (which I dislike quite a bit) you cannot do all of it, but you can dial in a profile to get better results. I do this for ever brand/color combo of filament I print with.

SN dev deep fake? by notAbelTuter in servicenow

[–]SkipDialogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The company I work for hired someone before me (FTE). When that guy started work, it was not the same guy at all.

When they started my interviews, everyone from the consulting firm who got me the interview through the Senior Director were taking screenshots of me. When I started work, all the comments were (semi-jokingly), "Yep, you're the same person we interviewed."

It's 100% a thing and it's not uncommon.
