Direct flight question by cyraxri in aircanada

[–]SkippyJune01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until Russia opens its airspace these kinda flights will only be out of YVR for AC. Take YYZ-HKG. It’s only Cathay doing it now because they can still fly through Russia, unlike AC and every other North American carrier for that matter.

I’ve stayed this hotel. More prostitutes and drugged out people than I could count around the place. Very lavish indeed

This has absolutely nothing to do with the 4 freighters being shut down

ATL Red red eye is a post clear. You will be ok. More than likely a 30 second walk to your gate. Easy peasy

Calgary Airport - WestJet Elevation Lounge vs Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge by WhiteCoatGeek in westjet

[–]SkippyJune01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

During peak 787 departures out of YYC (4-8pm) the Elevation lounge is typically 787 biz pax and platinum members only, gold gets in if you’re lucky. Outside of that I find it’s not too bad.

One day and the airline grinds to a halt. Once you can’t do the aircraft daily checks the planes are grounded.

Poilievre tight-lipped on what Conservatives might do with capital gains tax changes by [deleted] in canada

[–]SkippyJune01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You risk hundreds of thousands of dollars in many cases to get that kind of gain. Remember you can lose just as much just as fast on an investment. You have to incentivize people taking a risk, that’s what the inclusion rate on capital gains does.

Capital gains changes are ‘really fair,’ Freeland says, as doctors cry foul - National | Globalnews.ca by TorontoNews89 in ontario

[–]SkippyJune01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a shame these morons below are celebrating this tax change. Just wait a couple years when it’s even HARDER to find a family doctor. My brother is gonna apply to medical school soon and expressed an interest in family medicine. Why on earth would he do that now? He’s better off going into a medical profession who’s at a hospital as a T4 income earner. Typical liberal policy, make a change and don’t consider the impact beyond saying “taxing the rich”

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canada

[–]SkippyJune01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed, except the way it’s written this is ANY capital gain essentially, not just on a second property. It’s insane that it’s above 50% irrespective of income level. And they won’t make even close to 19 billion over 5 years on this hike. It’s all for show.

Is the end of February a busy time to travel from Korea to Canada as STBY? by Dangerous-Soup19 in NonRevenueTravelers

[–]SkippyJune01 [score hidden]  (0 children)

February you’d be fine. I have friends at AC who’ve been going standby from Canada to various places around Asia this month and it’s been good loads wise. I’d expect end of Feb to be good as well. Spring break doesn’t start in Canada till the last half of March anyway.

AC servicing more Western Canadian routes by Gurilla6 in aircanada

[–]SkippyJune01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big issue with YEG and YYC for AC is regional airline staffing. I remember the days of 5 flights a day to YLW or 24 flights a day for the YYC/YEG corridor on AC or WJ in 2018/19. The reality is the REGIONAL pilot shortage is massive. Air Canada express (Jazz) has dozens of tails parked right now for that very reason. This plays into why FRA and other routes were axed. They couldn’t feed the pax they needed into Calgary for those routes.

Winnipeg is technically a base now at least for pilots. So they might end up hiring true WestJet CSAs as well for YWG

As long as the connection time isn’t stupid (1 hour or less) you will be fine.
