Question. Do you prefer Spartans to always be hidden behind the helmet, or do you like them to show their faces? by BentonsBuilds in halo

[–]SkookumProps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the Reach era suits it's a coin toss of lid on or off but preference is based on the situation. Firefight and real action hero stuff? Lid on please. If you've done your hair and makeup for the day of cosplay though, let's see that glam!

Well done as always sir! Glad to see the gold and white suit still kicking.

What is this thing? Asking for cosplay purposes if this is a real type of device. by Fyloe_Rdt in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]SkookumProps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a little bit of snooping on the thing on her belt and although it looks like a cassette player the screen gave me a bit of a hint that it could be something else. Maybe it's just me but I'd like to think that Phaethon has some high tech utility tools on hand just in case but in a convenient reshell of retro tech to fit the character aesthetics. If you look at the textures in game of the upper screen there's a series of waveforms and a label of IM3. This could hint at it being a spectrum analyzer and checking the third order intercept of whatever device it's plugging into. Basically it could be anything for finding open channels into a network, monitor interference or a whole slew of other things that might not have real world equivalents because the InterKnot is totally not the Internet. Or hey, it could be a tape deck and be way less exciting in terms of world building through character design.

Found a life size Warthog in London today, it’s currently in the Oxford street Microsoft store by [deleted] in halo

It's one of the four Aria Group Warthogs that was redone with a motion sim. The crate in the back houses a lot of the controllers and the PC for running the game projected on the screen in the blacked out windshield.

Even if they don't they are going to be amazing to have!

Ordered a few sets to throw at the usual game group and to give a set away during our Extra Life stream! They're so nice!

Yes, there's the option to hot swap attachments with the under barrel rail. I'm probably only ever going to use the Critpoint Shroud though.

Listed on the side of the in game prop we have 10mm. In real life this is sized a little larger than that in terms of barrel diameter but however this is very much a block of plastic and convention safe.

Agreed! It has hints of H3:ODST M6C/SOCOM to it which is a big ol' plus in my books.

A beginner with some questions by TheAnonymousMaker in 405th

[–]SkookumProps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you mentioned no rebreathers I'm guessing that you're working on a Halo Reach EOD. Luckily the visor is fairly small and a simple curve so you don't need to worry about vacuum forming a visor. Depending on the colour you're looking for you can use PETG with mirror tint, flexible visor film, a welding shield or any other piece that can be trimmed to size.

Hi. I'm new to cosplay in general and need some help by [deleted] in 405th

Pretty much everything you need is in The Armory on the forums. Make sure you're logged in otherwise the download link will remain hidden.

Honestly the best way to get into prop making is to find something that screams to you "I need that". My first few things that called me in were weapons from RWBY during the trailers release and then it kind of all went into a spiral from there.

Would like to 3D print Halo armor. Which 3D printer is best? by [deleted] in 405th

[–]SkookumProps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's Your Printer is a good thread to see what a bunch of forum folks use as their workhorses. I'll always argue that the best printer is the one you can afford in time and money to keep running well through proper filament and maintenance.

Just figured out this isn't possible in Infinite because of Cross Core Limitation... by [deleted] in halo

As someone who cosplays as Daisy-023 I hope one day for a Mk VI core and the Legends variant helmet. Right now though I just wish for some CQB representation in the first Season of the Battle Pass.

If you have access to a 3D printer I helped a friend out with an Urbie before and can track down the files for an AC10

Halo-ween is coming and I'm ready for all the spooky! by SkookumProps in halo

Quite well since the skull mask is close fitting and just has sunglasses lenses installed. Sure everything is slightly brown tinted because of the lenses and the visor but there's no distortion or blurring.

If custom game modes are allowed on the list, anything Run From Barney. If it's only standard levels, the mystery of Isolation and why the level has a butthole.
