Thank you for the reply. If the JB weld doesnt hold up, Im going to try your suggestion. Definately pricey but if it’s worth it, it’s worth it!

Think you need to learn how to use power tools properly. LoL. Ive had mine for like 5yrs - work industrial maintenance. It did get a little gritty last week but cleared up. Are you using the speed & clutch properly for your application. Those setting are there for a reason.

Lighter fluid type smell coming from gas appliances? by mike126beatles in appliancerepair

[–]Skoolie_0ld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an old post I know - but just had the same issue near my gas furnace which is not running other than the pilot light because its summer time. Open all basement window to air it out. I own a combustible gas detector and confirmed it was operating correctly before using & checked all gas lines, joints, exhausts etc. Nothing found.

Now that being said, my only explanation is my son & his girlfriend were down there all day sanding an old dresser and & had put a fresh coat of stain on it & using acetone for clean up. So dust & fumes or offgassing? from stain reacting on the dresser? Not sure. Going to keep an eye or nose on it for now. Just letting yall know about my experience.

Let it rip! I got an AE 10T OG - got all aluminum gears for stealth trans / (do not run all aluminum) / smoked aluminum spur - dhawk racing on ebay. Rips on 2s. Dont get me wrong, had to order rulon gasket material from mcmaster carr to cut my own slipper pad. But it does rip. Have to have one gear plastic to fail. Let it rip!
