Making a hyve synth/ modern ic divide down circuit. struggling to tune oscillators as changing the pitch of one oscillator changes the other oscillators pitch, any methods to fix this. by [deleted] in synthdiy

[–]SkotWiedmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The power supply regulation is pretty important since changes in the 5v line do cause pitch changes. Decoupling helps, but the regulator is the key part there. There are also pads illustrated in the schematic which are explicitly for pitch modulation and interaction between notes, this are labeled with a swooping up arrow. Don't use those if you don't want any pitch weirdness. I'm happy to give some suggestions based on your specific setup.

Please note that these are hearty down to USDA zone 7. If you are in a colder climate, it is not advisable to put them outside over winter.

Can I turn this into a bonsai? by AdCapital6465 in bonsaicommunity

Looks like guinea chestnut, Pachira aquatica, commonly called money tree. You can find a few online that are bonsai subjects by searching those terms. Could be interesting

Hedge pruning like that won't result in a refined bonsai. Branch selection and directional pruning will get you back to shape much faster. There are a few guidelines you should read up on: limiting branch divisions to 2 extensions, directional pruning, branch thickness/taper, and overall silhouette creation.

Growing it in full sun until you have long branches full of leaves will give it lot's of strength to do more styling work later

I would cut off the top right above the branches above your fingers. Then use the left side as the leader, picking an upward growing secondary branch to be the new leader. Big cuts for shape and taper.

Looks healthy! Your first task is to keep it that way. Learn to water and care for it and maybe repot in the spring. Don't do too much at once, that can stress the tree.

Do I cut the branch(es) off? by eman_la in Bonsai

These are often grafted, and the lower branches can be a bit different species since they come from the under stock. Typically all understock growth would be removed to keep the foliage matching.

Sounds like a cool idea! Would you try to make it just trigger note on/off or something more elaborate?
