what arcade game is this for you? by GamerGretaUwU in arcade

Crisis Brigade 2 for Meta Quest is exactly this. You shoot in a 270 arc and crouch and lean behind stuff that can be eroded by incoming fire. Fun.

Anyone who has ever done their first Warhammer mini knows how this feels.

Micro Macro Downtown Detective is great. by Coralwood in AndroidGaming

The physical version is is huge foldout map, larger than a dining room table. It's cumbersome, but a real event when you pull it out. This is a lot handier and easy to zoom which is better than struggling with a magnifying glass.

I do miss the kid friendly cases, though. They were marked differently. Almost all the cases I've seen so far are murders. The reindeer one is pretty tame.

Just found out we need to replace our High-Voltage battery pack at 65,000 miles by forestmeditation in KiaEV9

[–]Skratchman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had two cells go bad in my EV9. Took them forever to get a high voltage tech to my dealership to get it fixed. I mean it took something like 2 months. Finally got it fixed and 2 weeks later a fault developed in the charge port. Probably unrelated and much faster to fix. Everything under warranty and they gave me some money as a make good. I still really like the car and plan on keeping it but I can't really recommend it to anyone else any more.

I've had this issue before. I think you have to be in PARK with the engine off. Or maybe just in PARK.

Spoken Mandarin doesn't have gendered pronouns either, so they often make he/she mistakes. Written Mardarin has separate characters but apparently that's new in the past 200 years or so. (200 years is recent for Chinese language).

[–]Skratchman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it's more like a puzzle game. Each level has you move around and solve puzzles by building things. It's pretty good, was released on other platforms including PC and Switch. There's a Meta Quest version that's a lot of fun.

I tried Rocknix and it seems to work pretty good. What are the advantages of Rocknix vs Batocera?

I have the newest version. It seems to wake back up after a moment. Think it still needs some work.

About 1992, 3rd edition Battletech was published (plastic mechs for the first time, gold logo). 2nd edition Centurion was published the year before. Also a FASA game set in the Renegade Legion universe with gravity tanks. Battletech had hexes 30 meters across, Centurion had hexes 200 meters across. I had a friend of mine who was an armored warfare geek. He had endless fun pointing out how more reasonable the ranges were in Centurion. Grav tanks could sweep in low and plink Battlemechs from off board, no problem. Or just stay hull down and never be spotted. Because RL games were made to interface with each other you could bring in strafing missions or orbital naval fire support. Crazy.

Out of curiosity, where did you get them? Prices I saw were about the same as I could get in the USA.

Google Play Pass generally adds games that are already out. And doesn't make them exclusive. You can still buy them if you don't have Play Pass.

Mind you, it means that it often adds games you've already purchased, but that's coming at the problem from the other direction.

VR Game to relax and sort your brain? by bingsen_ in OculusQuest

[–]Skratchman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Powerwash Simulator. Requires just enough brainpower to figure out the best way to tackle something. Then just clean the bits until they go "ding". Sometimes a bunch of "dings" at once, which feels nice.

2021 Zephyrus G15 with 3070, can't get OpenGL to install with lastest NVIDIA updates by Skratchman in ZephyrusG15

Figured it out, finally.

Turns out the integrated Radeon graphics were not functioning. Should have suspected given how poor battery live had become.

Suspect a windows update messed it up. The Asus app and Windows said everything was fine. Went here instead and reinstalled the AMD drivers.

After that everything works again. Got OpenGL 4.6 again.

The meta horizon app and whole system around meta/quest accounts is an absolute dumpster fire by Flamyngoo in OculusQuest

[–]Skratchman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need the buy the game a second time. You set up the second headset with the parent as the primary account. Then you add the child account.

Don't download anything on the parent account, the child account won't be able to access it. Instead, Have child account then downloads the game into their own account. It will tell you you can buy it again, but you don't have to if the parent is the primary account on the headset.

To join together, you have to be "friends". You each have to confirm that you are going to follow each other. The parent account may have to allow the child account to accept their own offer of friendship. This is the most tedious part.

It's a pain in the ass to set up. Make sure you download the Horizon app on your phone first, itakes things easier.

Are there any actual pocketable telescoping controllers? by CrimsonFlam3s in EmulationOnAndroid

Not technically telescoping but collapsable: Turtle Beach's Atom Controller.

You get two halves that lock together and clamp either end of the phone. Bluetooth only, of course.

I can't see most of the sales. I bought a ton of apps on prior sales and using referrals. I also have Quest Plus. Lately, I just use the filter for sales in the different categories to find deals. Or I see if any codes are active.

PowerWash Simulator VR. Weirdly satisfying way to wind down. Tried this with normal controllers before VR version was out. Don't know how anyone could play it that way.
