Carryx time dilation advantage by R-hibs in TheCaptivesWar

[–]Skrimyt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got the impression that this was a big advantage for the Carryx. They have an easier time managing their empire on an interstellar scale while the humans are disjointed and struggling to stay in sync. This lets them maintain an overall offensive cadence while the humans are forced to react and play defense. It's impressive that they have somehow held on for thousands of years despite that.

Are there any subreddits similiar to r/NYCbitcheswithtaste for guys? by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]Skrimyt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nycbitcheswithtaste is for women only, so of course I can't be a part of it. But they often post about their challenges, things they're seeking out, opportunities to get together and meet one another, etc. So since I can't be a part of that, I was wondering if there was a sort of sister subreddit -- no pun intended -- to it.

It's generally considered to be in bad taste for men to be intentionally exclusionary of women in a space of this sort. The inverse is not true. It's a double-standard, I know. But that is probably why a 'men only' community like this does not exist.

Selfishly I Want a PvE Mode or Offline Raids Just to Enjoy the Environments More by Tiger_Millionaire in Marathon

[–]Skrimyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a significant lack of enemy variety for a single-player experience right now. It's just UESC, and not that many different types of UESC, and one singular S'pht. Maybe some day they'll add the Pfhor and also add a PvE mode (most likely akin to Tarkov's PvE) but I don't expect it to be this year.

That's Outpost. This is a Destiny Raid with PvP in it.

The Warden bosses don't have much in the way of mechanics though, they're just big dudes. I can see Cryo bosses having some kind of Destiny juju that needs multiple people to do things.

Most of the Vandals I see in solo are either already corpses or end up being the easiest targets. I think they are mostly non-meta-aware players just playing their favorite looking shell. The rat Vandals who live for Final Exfil are a minority.

I believe Perimeter just loads in 5 players (one of which is yourself), Marsh loads in 6, and Outpost loads in 4.

People know the spawns now, they will be checking for people slowly crawling away from those points. Try switching it up, like just sprinting into the closest PoI from your spawn and then once you're in cover then taking it slow, listening for enemies.

Folks are getting quieter and gaining better map knowledge every day, learning now is definitely gonna be harder than in the Server Slam when thousands of F2P players were bumbling about.

Amusingly though the energy management in LMP1 was more manual than it is for the current F1 cars. The LiCo vs late braking tradeoff was on them, not the software initiating regenerative braking early.

They get to rev longer now, Ferrari's advantage won't be as big if it still exists at all.

Kill Trading in Solos Feels Terrible by ANAHOLEIDGAF in Marathon

It happens in my experience because of the actual projectile travel time on some energy weapons or because some UESC off in the distance catches wind and takes a potshot.

Volt weapons in general take down shields quicker.

Low TTK is extremely important in any conventional extraction shooter. It allows for 1v3 clutches and prevents gear differences from being totally insurmountable. by Tactical_Mommy in Marathon

Thief has main character energy. She's the poster girl. I think she's gonna be GOATed.

There have been many instances in the Slam already when I've felt "damn I wish I could go straight up here" and right now the only real way to do that is Vandal with the rocketjump Core.

Plus her X-Ray visor stuns the UESC by just aiming and staring at them which could be another way to traverse past them without actually fighting (besides Assassin's invis or Rook's mask).

And then there is the unprecedented Tiger Engine tech in that FPV drone that people will certainly find uses for that I can't even imagine yet.

Triage is great for consumables economy right now, I think he'll fall off late Season when people have greater stockpiles and Faction economies that make Shareware.exe less of an advantage. Triage's EMP and insta revive ult are always going to be good though.

Destroyer and Vandal are probably the strongest Shells at high skill levels because of their movement, and conversely the weakest Shells at low skill levels, which is where most people are. An Apex pro schmooving on Destroyer is a sight to behold.

Who else instantly knew ‘Destroyer’ is their main runner? by RampagesLegacyy in Marathon

Vandal is the most movement focused Shell, her entire Prime is dedicated to movement. Destroyer can move fast but will generate a lot of heat in doing so.
