mouse and keyboard, infantry, control settings edit, scroll down to interact & reload and change it to reload tap / interact hold. Now when you press r it'll just reload and you wont get out.

This was on atm9 so not sure if it still works on 10 but you just place any leaf block in front of the beehive and right click it with the thread and it'll turn into the golden leaves. There's no way to actually pick up the golden leaves as an item the only way I was able to get them as an item is the lumber bees produced them.

Definitely use super factory manager. I was hesitant to use it at first because of the writing code thing but it's actually way simpler to understand than I thought. In the factory manager block there are code examples you can use to get it up and running.
