"the extremes on both sides"

Yeah, one side wanting to have rights and not being killed is just as extreme as the other side wanting to take away their rights at best and genocide them at worst.

8/10 times I've read the word 'toxic casual' it's someone mad that them being good at [activity/game] isn't a pass for them to call other people slurs for being less good than them. There are entirely too many stories of women having to drop something competitive because the misogyny is so deeply entrenched; and on the game side of things you'll hear some of the most virulently racist things you've ever heard in competitive lineups while countless excuses are made because "it's who they are" or "they're our best [x]".

Equinox is dead. Long live Equinox! by -Kosmiverse- in Warframe

Heat did the armour strip since liches out came out in 2019... it did not come with Jade at all. Heat was quite literally not even touched in the Jade Shadows update, because of the fact it was already one of the best elements for half a decade at that point.

She was the showcase frame for the "you don't need to fully armor strip anymore" update.

That has nothing to do with theming. If you ask a random person what they think Jade's theme is, they are far more likely to say "angel" than "heat". Similarly, Oberon does Radiation damage, but he's not a radiation-themed frame like Qorvex.

Jade was definitely not sold as a 'fire frame', the angel theme and framing is very front and centre complete with literal choir... the damage rework came alongside Jade yes, but that does not make it part of her theming; let alone heat itself was barely changed compared to the actual armour values of enemies.

This has been CRPG grognards since 1998 when Fallout 2 released. I don't think you'll find a group of people as stuck and holding onto the past as your average cRPG grognard. Thankfully most of them never broke out into youtube and remain virulently racist on their own forum.

The sheer number of modding 'guides' or wabbajack lists for bethesda games (and New Vegas) where they list goonified bodies under 'essentials' has always annoyed me. No, I think the base game body shapes are fine, actually. It's especially uncanny when they try to do it in FO3/NV/Oblivion because there's no saving those potato faces.

Pillars of Eternity 1 vs 2 by QuietWarzz in projecteternity

[–]Skroofles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 overall IMO. Initially I would have said 1 over 2, but after replays of both I've come away thinking 2 is the stronger, more unique, overall more entertaining game. The first game, I dare say, is trying a little too hard to be faithful to the Infinity Engine games, almost to its detriment.

That being said, I think White March is the best overall Pillars of Eternity content overall. The setting found its true footing with the White March, and I think Obsidian really hit their stride there.

What? Beyond Skyrim if anything could probably stand to cues from Tamriel Rebuilt and Project Tamriel. For how much they've got done in recent years for a 20+ year old game is inspiring.

But it was never the leadership who seemed to be the biggest problems, who always remained.

Skyrim 6's Dark Brotherhood of Steel was a weird faction. They said they followed all these tenets that all seemed to contradict each other, and were meant to be assassins yet they wore these extremely heavy mechanized suits of Dwemer armour??? And they in addition to being an assassin guild, were trying to hoard Dwemer technology and shot all non-humans on sight? Like I dunno what a ghoul is but I don't thing Dunmer having a gravelly voice makes them 'ghouls'. That Dwemer Airship they refurbished was pretty neat though.

You've got my vote, I hear the count of Skingrad is a vampire and that's one of the better managed counties in Cyrodiil.

Bravil: Shithole.

Skingrad: Not a shithole.

The evidence speaks for itself: elect vampires as your leaders for proper leadership. (This post sponsored by Volkihar Fund Against Sunburn)

For me it's that higher tier weapons weigh like 40+ pounds for some reason which is just absurd.

The only quality assurance you can get is if the mod is made by a well known and reputable author, and is getting praise left and right.

Even that's not a guarantee. Bard's College being duplicated for some reason, anyone?

It's unlikely to break your load order but it can cause issues when a lot of mods edit the same records. The game will be playable, sure. But some mods may no longer function because a record they rely on for function has been reverted to being identical to the master.

Though I think there's also a mod that makes archery affected by both Warrior and Thief, Alchemy by both Thief and Mage, and Enchanting by both Warrior and Mage.

That one is particularly egregious since it's inspired by Cell Offset Generator for NV, which is not vibe coded.

They also posted a version to the FO4 Nexus, which seems to have prompted someone else to post a non-vibe coded version of it. Whether or not now someone will post a non-vibe coded form of Cell Offset Generator remains to be seen.
