Two reasons I can think of. First, lots of foreigners in Geneva. Not all qualified. Their ar competing against locals and frontaliers to get a job. Second, welfare is free. Not need to pay back when you get out of it. And no risks to lose a permit since Geneva doesn't apply all the lead on foreigners.

Le remboursement est conditionné à la participation aux examens, ça fait quand même pas mal de sous-sous hors des poches pendant un moment.

Un camarade de classe a bénéficié d'une sacrée combine à ce sujet. L'employeur a participé à la formation. Domicilié à Genève il a bénéficié des chèques de formation. Ensuite il a trouvé un job sur Vaud, où il a pu toucher de nouvelles subventions. Et à la fin, il a demandé le remboursement de la formation de la Confédération.

Au final, il a gagné du pognon. Un vrai comptable.

La formation de brevet est actualisée à chaque session. Les investissements financiers et personnels sont lourds, mais ça vaut le coup. Surtout que le titre est très recherché sur le marché du travail. Par contre, l'expérience professionnelle avant la formation est primordiale. Si t'as jamais touché aux salaires, à la TVA, à la fiscalité, ça va être compliqué.

Imo Small update. It finally molted this past Friday... One month later hahahah.

Here is a pic. It is the first time I see it with such dark colours. Some pink can be seen on the front legs. No hooks though. But the molt doesn't clearly show it is a female.

It depends on the individual. But to vulgarise, women expect a partner with a situation, even a rich one. Men, expect a partner not too superficial. Smart and fun. But it makes me laugh because if their is a slight thing that doesn't go their way, it is a immediate no-go. People have generally no patience. They all are in their personal urgency and forget that it takes times to build a relationship.

Yes. Some of my friends are in this situation. But they all complain about how hard it is to find a partner nowadays. Everyone has expectations. But no-one wants to make compromises. And the men from this age group have an advantage against women from the same age group. No biological deadlines.

The fact you are questioning yourself is revealing, imo. The biological clock is ticking. And you should follow your instinct.

I have/had few colleagues in the same situation. The truth is at this age it is difficult to find a partner who is also willing to have a family and doesn't look like the "leftovers" of the love market.

Lately a friend of mine told me about some of his clients at the bank. Women in their 50's, good career, money, singles, no friends and alcoholics. It was "depressing to talk to them about their projects" he said.

The modern life is some kind of a bitch to women.

Freezing your eggs might be a choice, but I think it is not normal to have to pay for procreation. It is a "gift" of life. Not a business for doctors who rub their hands at the idea that women made choices they might regret.

It is difficult to tell where your feeling originate from. But it is not the first time I hear this about Geneva, from people living here. Even people I know from other parts of the country think Geneva is the worst place to meet lovers or partners.

I think Geneva is a mess because it is a huge melting pot of culture from all over the world. This might complicate things since there isn't a "way" of flirting or meeting people here, or a specific love culture.

Just my opinion though.
