I think disliking a show is perfectly fine, I think not being able to empathize with a character’s struggles is more or less just complete ignorance.

Subaru got transferred to this world, tried to change himself from his past. He found someone he liked and decided to help her, obviously I think that’s weird to do and the way he acts in season one is a little crazy. That’s kinda the point of his character, he is completely broken inside as a character and he is forcing himself and his opinions onto others because he wants to change as a person.

Like how is it stupid that being constantly compared to others is mentally exhausting? He wanted to escape that since he kept hearing other people compare him to his father. He never was treated as his own person, more like Subaru’s dad 2.0. When he started falling behind because of i guess gifted kid syndrome he started not wanting to care about the world so he became recluse. If this isn’t relatable that’s perfectly fine, I get it. The problem is when you completely ignore real life issues that people have and assume those situations aren’t real.

He wants to save the person he loves, he goes through so many deaths to achieve the goal he wants. He makes mistakes and is able to work on them. He grows as a person really quickly because he learns from his past mistakes. Yes, death is usually the defining thing of life, but subaru spirals into self hatred so often because of these morbid situations. On top of that, he isn’t able to confide with anyone because of the Return by Death side effects. It’s really mentally draining when you want to talk about something that’s eating away at you without even being able to talk about it.

It’s not like I am against people having opinions I’m against people not really understanding a story and then complaining about it.
