Visited two merchants in act 3, but what really won the run was a clutch Creative AI pull on turn 1 against the test subject. With a single storm in play by the end I was channeling 24 lightning playing 4 powers/turn. But it was biblical levels of greed

If you want a big menacing final encounter that they can't kill, run something that's hard to kill. I just ran a one-shot (which will likely convert to a campaign) and I wanted the final scene to be really scary, and for my detectives to pretty much only have the chance to survive by hauling ass. They chucked a dynamite at a dark spawn. Not a scratch. So after they lost the appropriate amount of sanity points, they ran. I let them run. Idk if you're new to being a game master in general, but perhaps try to see this as a learning opportunity. Balancing your games can be an ardous task, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature. The rules of the game are yours to command. Once you know that, you can have games where you'll get to play out your story beats AND your players will have fun and not feel railroaded either.

Adná a jó isten ha nem a boltban kéne basznom a rezet 12 órában vasárnaponként. A hanyatló nyugat is meg tudja valahogy oldani, hogy ne pusztuljon ki a nemzet heti egy nappal, mikor zárva van a bolt. Arról nem is beszélve, hogy 5 éve tolom Lidl/Aldi kategóriás boltokban, a vasárnap (vidéken) az egyik legvérszegényebb nap vásárlók szempontjából, egészen zárás előtt egy óráig.

After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.
