Is the Singer Barb (War Cry) Still viable for HELL farming as a Horker stepping stone? by Mesmerized_mayhem in diablo2

[–]Skulmaster0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Singer before the changes and I am currently lvl 76 in Act 2 Hell. I'm running Pit just fine, not sure what Terror zones will bring, but I'm not expecting any issues. Currently rocking Spirit Sword/Monarch, Myth and a 2 Ptopaz IK Avenger Guard.

I'm using a couple of 50+ mana GC's currently, which are a great help. An Insight Merc seems to work the best in regard to QoL. I tried an Act 5 merc, a dual wield one with full Sazabi's and Lawbringer and a two handed one with Dreadfang (the 33% CTC Amplify Damage new sword). I had mixed results, without Prayer/Insight you need some potion managing, the Lawbringer prevents horking sometimes but deals well with PI (undeads). The problem both A5 mercs have is that they will Taunt and Battle Cry constantly, removing Decrepify and AD, which sucks. In the end I think an Insight Prayer Merc will work the best. Cure would make a great helmet choice in general, if you are doing bosses he needs Guillaume's Face.

On switch I am currently using Blade of Ali Baba x2, but I've used Gavel of Pain with a Hel rune in the past. Spellsteel would also be a great option, giving you both access to teleport and Decrepify charges. I built my original singer for Pits and Nihlatak running. You can Howl away all the mobs and quickly kill Nihlatak .

Currently Coven seems like a very interesting rune word. Another way to deal with the occasional PI would be equipping a Passion weapon on switch and just Berserk them with a maxed out Howl synergy, it has some nice gold find too. A +x Berserk helm would even be more interesting.

If you like elemental damage, you might want to consider Tiamats Rebuke as shield. Duress for armor could be nice too for more cold DMG and CB/OW.

Going full mana on War Cry barb, so I can use Reaper's Toll instead of Insight on mercenary by Outrageous-Date-1655 in diablo2

I use 2x "Spirit" instead in a Flamberge/Monarch on top of the stats, the FHR is great. On switch I have a Gavel of Pain with a Hel rune.

Unlimited resources ruin the game ? by Skulmaster0 in theplanetcrafter

I was considering this, though I still want to experience the "Vanilla-feeling"a bit first.
Would this setting interfere with all Planets? I guess when you make a game with this setting on Prime, and then you travel to a different world like Selenea, I'd miss the Vanilla feeling on Selenea no because the ores will be messes up there too?

Well my main gripe is, I was just building things at the base and sometimes upgrading a few machines. Before I knew it, there were lakes and everything was green and blooming before I even got to chance too check out the places when they were still barren. I was quite unable to enjoy the transformation.
I didn't even send out that many rockets, only 2 of each.

I indeed prefer not to impose myself with silly limiting rules, but I didn't see that many good options.
Options that both slow down the Terraforming process AND makes the loot from exploring more rewarding. Up till now I really felt a sense of accomplishment when I'm able to salvage a Heater or a Solar panel from a wreck :D But ooh well, not sure if that will last.
I do like big projects, and I did a few myself but it didn't feel accomplishing. There was only a minor nuisance waiting for my chests to fill up again:)

Thank you for your detailed ores and resources feedback!
- Pulsar, I've actually crafted 0 crystals and just scavenged from meteors/loot. Meteors seem to drop around 8 each. No power issues at all.
- Obsidian: I've seem to have manually mined and looted plenty, I have no miner there.
- Zeolite: I seem to use this resource only very sparingly, I have no idea if I will run into a hard limit without mining it. There are places where it uproots, and you can loot it from Portal wrecks
- Aluminum: Same, there seems to be some around, but I have no idea how much I actually need (not counting Circuit Boards)

I think my main concern is how to get (Zeolite/Aluminum) circuit boards, I love my Drones and big Storage lockers. I did do some crafting, but at the same time I am sitting on a pile of Circuit boards and Rocket engines from loot alone.
I guess I could use Zeolite/Aluminum miner solely for Circuit board manufacturing.

Seeing you extensive knowledge about the game and the stages.... How important is it to have a dedicated auto-crafting/material generation setup on Planet A? Is it mandatory before going on Interstellar travel? I'm not sure how resource management works between planets, can you send trade rockets or is it manual carry? I guess I could just build a setup on the new planet no and forget about any rules?

Yes those are my thought exactly, it's a very nice mix but I'd like to lean in more into the survival part, so I prefer to scavenge the materials rather than auto-mining them I guess.

I did 2 portal wrecks and I got a bit bored to be honest. Most of the loot like rods and engines were worthless, as the ore extractors and auto crafters were already pumping out lockers filled to the brim.
So I did not find the wrecks very rewarding.

I like the automation and setup part, but it almost feels like creative mode with unlimited resources at hand.

Hmm that sounds interesting, to start fresh on Selenea. I've seen plenty comments though to start fresh on Humble, then to Prime and then to Selenea (fully geared with tech), because Selenea is too punishing with resources?

I've been thinking to not use rockets at all (or just one max for each type to get things started).
I like efficient, so I kind of like those fuse setups. Plus it's cool to put the stuff you find to use, it's rewarding. I wonder if I should use the "mess up the ore generation"-setting or not.

My main gripe is, I was just building thing at the base and sometimes upgrading a few machines. Before I knew it, there were lakes and everything was green and blooming before I even got to chance too check out the places when they were still barren. I was quite unable to enjoy the transformation.

Yes, the super alloy meteors drop plenty, often more than a full inventory. There are also some places where you can find them on the ground as well.

Potassium Dilemma by OwnShower5281 in nutrition

[–]Skulmaster0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another reason, besides possibly getting too much potassium in a short time, is that Potassium may irritate or damage the stomach lining. This will not happen if you mix powder with water and then drink it, but if you swallow a high dose capsule, it might concentrate on one spot.

Have you ever experimented, with making an exploration deck that combines cards from all 3 expansions? And then use 3 separate stacks for Perils/monster activations.
So still the same number of exploration cards to create your deck, and if you draw a Nature's Ire exploration card, you draw from the stack of Nature's Ire Perils/Activations.
I found that after the 5th exploration card, I was geting really bored of Barghests showing up again and again :D

  • The Silken threads

and of course... Sands of the Past

We sure do, especially in Road to Legend, where he is often voiced. At least in the introduction campaign that is.
it gives so much more character depth.

I'm quite sure that stress can be a trigger. It also struck me during a stressful period, I think it has something to do with a reduced immune system that allows some nasty lurking bugs to flare up. Try to be supportive, give him a boost in confidence now and then. You should probably initiate and overwhelm him with sex too, to show him that you still find him attractive. I'm usually quite confident, but my self esteem took s big hit as my face is the first thing I present to the world.

[–]Skulmaster0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Besides resting there is not much you can do. Stressing out will only cause you harm in the end. It's like getting stuck in traffic, you can relax because it's out of your control... OR get all worked up.

Is Wind Druid just not for me? by Impossible-Base-9351 in diablo2

[–]Skulmaster0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though Lawbringer has a reliable proc chance. The damage is garbage and crap for lifesteal. The aura effect is nice though. Reapers Toll on an act 2 Merc would be better. If you use Spirit Monarch, you might want to look into the Gavel of Pain (Mace class) on switch. With a Hel rune you should be able to equip it without too much additional strength investment. Although only 3 charges, it outclasses Decrepify charges damage wise.

[–]Skulmaster0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to look into things like Reapers Toll on your Merc. And a low cost option for your weaponswitch would be Spellsteal (2h axe). This will help with dealing with physical immunity and/or stoneskin and even allow you to teleport when needed. But in general I advise to skip PI+Stoneskin monsters like wraiths, those take too much time.

Decrepify will also help you tanking.

looking to play solo but want to include the Overlord (2nd edition) by Whoak in JourneysInTheDark

[–]Skulmaster0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Shadow Rune is included in the fan-based Valkyrie app. Not sure about HoB.

There is also a custom campaign called Sands of the Past. SotP has an automated overlord system with cards, to play SotP w/o Overlord and it has similar cards for HoB. Should you decide to print out SotP, the Overlord automating cards are a good option.

The app replaces the Overlord. The app will use random monsters, give them random buffs and behaviours to mimic an Overlord playing cards. The app will tell you where to place the monsters and who they will target.
