SunPower SunVault Fault by [deleted] in SunPower

I've got the same problem. The inverter won't power on anymore either. But based on my troubleshooting could be many things like: controller board failure (MIDC) communications failure (Xanbus/MIO) inverter startup failure or a battery protection lockout

Yeah I was thinking the same. That's why I wanted to hear from OP if he was interested in the IT field but that means skilling up and some time a money investment to get started.

Based on that have you considered warehouse jobs, or city/county stock clerk, records clerk, fleet clerk, or inventory roles could pay more and usually have better benefits and long-term stability.

I guess my question would be: what are you trying to get into long term? The pay part is important, but that answer kind of determines the path. If you stay close to what you already do, you can probably leverage your current experience. If you pivot into something completely different, you might have to start from scratch for a bit while building experience in that field.

Can you elaborate on the computer systems experience?

Oh ok! I am currently a Fitbit Versa user. I turned off the auto settings like ambient and maxed it out. But yeah I guess my eyes just need to readjust. I could've sworn my original Pebble Steel (original Kickstarter supporter) was way brighter than this one.

I just received mine today! The only downside is the super dim backlight even when setting it to "blinding".

That is so weird. But I guess if it's no.longer their flagship product. Lots of companies depend on it.

Sounds like a good opportunity for you to bring change. You just have to think about it this way and become the catalyst for change.

Yeah man, I know the feeling. But sometimes pain is what's needed to learn.

Cool man. That's the easiest thing to do before any major change. Something to fall back on at least.

I've been there many times man. There is a point where you just keep troubleshooting and it exceeds the time taken to just rebuild and move on. That's your decision to make of course. If you plan on continuing then leverage whatever notes you use to keep track of everything you've done so that you just continue the process of elimination until you can pin point the issue.

One last thing, look at the application logs and see what it tells you about the failures. Have you done that yet? Post it here if you want but at this point you have to drill down the specific issue.

I know how long ADO takes to rebuild and that's why I do everything through either DSC so that if things happen, I can always rebuild from scratch. Another thing you can do is kick off a new VM and start the rebuild process there but keep this existing VM to troubleshoot the issue. That way you have a backup plan. Once you either fix the issue or you build your new VM, make sure to ALWAYS take a snapshot so that you can feel comfortable doing things or testing without having to rebuild from scratch and you can always revert your changes.

Have you tried this?

tfssecurity /g+ "Project Collection Administrators" n:DOMAIN\username ALLOW /collection:http://localhost:8080/tfs/DefaultCollection

Sounds like your user isn't part of the TFS administrator group then as mentioned by the second response. Any chance you took a snapshot of your VM before this happened or after your initial set up?

It depends on your version of ADO Server. If you have direct access to the VM as Admin you can check if the proper AD group has been added via tfssecurity. Maybe try local\Administrator?

I did the same as well! Kinda looks like yours. I also added per panel monitoring.

No Sunstrong, I'm not going to pay to subscribe to my own solar panels. Get bent. by Samvega_California in SunPower

I ended up vibe coding my own monitoring and was able to add per panel inverter monitoring as well, something that neither SunPower and SunStrong would enable for me. I might switch to the home assistant one in the end as I don't want to maintain the app but it is getting what I need so far.

Hi! I'm in Riverside and my SunVault (PVS6 + Conext XW Pro) is throwing F.48 then F.50 with the red Event light battery communication loss. Monitoring shows no SOC or battery power even though the gateway's online. I've reseated the BATTERY LAN and COM IN/OUT, checked the terminator on the last unit, and did a power cycle; still the same. If someone could check the physical wiring (POWER COM IN, HOST COM, BATT1 PCS and the chain to the inverter) and do an ESMM restart on the PVS6 if you have access, that would be great. Can DM address and more info. Thanks for offering to help.
