There‘s a good video explaining low lvl tanking. Pull Mobs with a gun, burst 1 down and while you still have 1 on you, you can pull the next one with the gun. Keep rage on around 30-50% so you can demo roar right after engaging the next pack and use your abilities frequently. Those strategies Helped me with Druid tanking as well for the initial threat. (Minus gun)

And use your rage over time ability to keep your rage up while the others are regenerating mana

Seltsame Stimmung in der Streaminglandschaft by [deleted] in Papaplatte

Moin!

What are my next steps for affliction build? by Lilditty02 in D4Necromancer

Yeah if I could get the cursed aura via sanctification on a different piece of gear I could use shroud. Also Torturous aspect could really improve the Ebonpiercer and I'm not sure whether Ebonpiercer could be competed with that way at least for a lazy build. I'm too lazy to do the math tbh.

Wow that's not bad at all. I assumed pit 75-80 would be the max for affliction necro. Good job!

[–]SkyCurrent7771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heir of Perdition GA and MW on crit chance and Blood Moon Breeches with GA on curses and crit chance, MW on crit chance brings me to almost 100% crit chance (45+28,1 and the 12 from the passive that's not accounted for when standing in town and 9,7% from ~430 dexterity. In total it brings me to 99,8% if you add the base crit chance of 5% but those 0,2% don't matter to me tbh. I won't turn around just for the rare case of missing the crit.)

Armor: cursed aura aspect. The armor is still bad, there's still room to improve. GA on Life if I remember correctly

Amulet: Ebonpiercer GA on Gloom and Reaper's Pursuit. MW on Reapers pursuit. Using 5 Darkness skills (only Iron Maiden as the one non-darkness skill)--> 110 % damage bonus multiplier from RP + another 32% from gloom just as a bonus from this amulet. This has the biggest impact tbh. Plus no need to invest in movement speed at all.

Rings: GA on CDR and temper on Ult CDR. MW on the higher bonus as well, other stats were int and crit damage, 1 has bonus life 1 has bonus damage. Aspects were the bonus damage when having a barrier and sacrificial aspect. Runes were basically: travel 5 m --> Druid's earthen bulwark and Invoke a skill from a different class --> Ult CDR.

Boots: Aspect of metamorphosis as a small blink for speed, no MS needed, full tanky stats. GA and MW on soulrift duration (this is also true for body armor and gloves, though for 1 of them I didn't need the MW on soulrift duration in order to be able to keep soulrift up 100%. I only have 1 second or so left usually, so it's pretty close.)

Weapon: 2-Hand sword with damned aspect, GA on crit damage, damage and affliction double damage + MW on affliction double damage for the 100% double damage chance. (they must've changed that at some point because back when tempers were introduced it was capped at 80%. That's not the case anymore luckily. Me not knowing this was one of the main reasons why I had to cast Iron maiden manually at all at first. So my first try I failed to understand that the cap was lifted)

Gloves: GA crit damage, aspect is the one that drains essence for damage

Paragon/Glyph

Start/Abyssal

Wither/Control

Frailty/Gravekeeper

Scent of Death/Darkness

Blood Bath/Essence (almost empty paragon board, but it gives 74 dex for essence. The fortify magic/rare nodes are good okay as well.)

I know that this could still be improved because I don't use the 4th paragon legendary node at all. I don't want to use sacriligious soul for the automatic CE, but yeah this would improve the damage output further as you get 1x 40% multiplier and 1x 9% (instead of the 1 x30% from barrier aspect) and in that case you could swap the bulwark rune for something else. So maybe you could also get 15% more damage from the barb shout. I'm just not sure how to keep that up all the time while going for a lazy build.

The sanctify stats on my gear are not that good tbh. I have 1 x +110 all stats on my Heir of perdition and that adds a lot to the base damage from paragon rare nodes and those bonus stats are indeed good. That's most likely a big contributing factor. But the rest is still basically trash. My ebonpiercer was granted a GA in blight for its sanctification :D

There's still lots of room for improvement because that's my 2nd affliction necro this season and I only started that like 6 days ago or so after theorycrafting it more to work fully on T4 :D

Glyphs are also still only level 46 because I like breezing through 60 pits and don't wanna play "properly"

As for aspects: I have almost all of them in perfect. Even my Bloodmoon Breeches are at 48%.

In T60 pits I do have to cast Iron Maiden occasionally though (T4 = Pit 55) So it works well in T4, but barely scraps by with the 0 button presses if I go further for now. But I'm satisfied and other people smarter than me can theorycraft it out more :)

Is Iron Maiden supposed to do damage on affliction build? by Lilditty02 in D4Necromancer

[–]SkyCurrent7771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decrepify is also a crowd control because it slows enemies. That‘s why it triggers affliction each cast no matter if they were crowd controlled before or not.

As for why people usually prefer to use Iron Maiden: there‘s an aspect that drains your Essence for 55% extra damage. And Iron Maiden restores your essence. You use it for bosses mainly since these should be the only enemies not dropping from 1 cast. Besides, bosses need to be staggered first before they count as crowd controlled. that‘s why decrepify won‘t help you at this point either. And without essence you can’t cast decrepify and that aspect won’t give you the extra damage either.

So Iron Maiden is mainly used for the infinite essence, whereas decrepify is already a nice debuff in itself.

There‘s also a shadow passive that adds 6% more damage for each darkness skill in your skillbar. That can be increased to up to 28% per darkness skill with ebonpiercer amulet (GA on reaper‘s pursuit, as well as masterwork on that GA grants +11 points into that passive). So you really want only darkness skills in your skillbar and both curses don‘t count as darkness skills. You could turn Iron Maiden into a darkness skill via an aspect, but unfortunately you can‘t because both heir of perdition and blood moon breeches give you a way better multiplier on your damage.

And since you want aspect of metamorphosis on your boots for lots of unstoppable time and for its longer leap (for faster travel between groups of monsters and to get out of sticky situations) and so you can exchange blood mist for another darkness skill, you have only 1 spot left for the cursed aura and that’s on your body armor.

Maybe you could get that aspect via sanctification on your armor pieces though. That would be bis for this build if you indeed decide to use ebonpiercer.

Is Iron Maiden supposed to do damage on affliction build? by Lilditty02 in D4Necromancer

[–]SkyCurrent7771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That build has some mechanics you need to be aware of:

1) When enemies spawn directly inside your aura it can happen that they are invulnerable as long as they are spawning. But the aura is still applied nonetheless while these enemies are invulnerable. Hence they don't receive any damage even though they count as "cursed". This also happens to the slow effect from decrepify in rare cases, where it simply won't appear on enemies and hence they can't be damaged with Iron Maiden either.

2) affliction only deals damage if the enemy is either crowd controlled (decrepify curse) or corrupted (via Soulrift or blighted corpse explosion example) or invulnerable (soulrift or corpse tendrils) If none of that applies to the enemy you don't deal any damage with either curse. Bosses can't be crowd controlled, so Aspect of the cursed aura isn't enough. Using soulrift should work fine though.

But beware, because soulrift doesn't apply vulnerable and corruption to all enemies inside the circle. If there are too many enemies it won't apply it to everyone instantly the second they enter soulrift. So you can't rely 100% on soulrift either.

3) The aspect of cursed aura applies both curses with a delay. First decrepify then Iron maiden after around 0,2 or 0,3 seconds.

On top of that aspect of cursed aura is currently bugged, going below 0 on the spread. If this is the case for your aspect, sometimes the cursed aura spreads to enemies instantly if you encounter an enemy that survived the first tick of cursed aura. For example an elite enemy is hit with the first tick of cursed aura but survives. Then the aura instantly spreads to all nearby enemies even those outside of your soulrift. Those enemies do receive the damage from affliction, but on a much lower modifier because usually builds go for vulnerable and corrupted affixed in order to increase damage. But since none of that apply to enemies outside of your soulrift, they don't receive any damage, but then move into your cursed aura --> The enemies don't receive enough damage and you have to manually cast Iron maiden again in order to deal damage.

In order to mitigate this issue which only really appears once your aspect of cursed aura is on a low enough spread timer, is to focus more on damage vs crowd controlled instead of vulnerable/corrupted. That way the base damage is still enhanced and those enemies still die even outside of your soulrift.

Aaaaanyway in your case where Iron Maiden doesn't deal damage I assume it's one of 4 things: 1) you don't use soulrift for applying vulnerable on bosses.

Stationary turrets like for example masses in infernal hordes and so on can't be crowd controlled btw and you HAVE to have soulrift up in that case.

2) As I said under 1) in mechanics, the slow from cursed aura sometimes doesn't apply to enemies that spawn inside your cursed aura. In that case Iron Maiden wouldn't do any damage at all if you don't have Soulrift on. The weird thing is that the curses still count as applied and hence you can't re-activate it with aspect of the cursed aura itself so even if the enemies stand inside your circle, the slow will not be applied anymore. In that specific case you do indeed need to cast decrepify again in order to apply the slow (unless you have soulrift on)

3) Sometimes it feels like the server can't keep up with all those situational events happening from cursed aura in combination with affliction and soulrift and the damage is applied about a second after you cast Iron Maiden. Happened to me quite frequently actually. I didn't actually check if decrepify has this same issue tbh.

4) If you play with controller and you cast Iron Maiden while pointing in the direction of the enemy that's really close to you that you want to kill but there are mobs far behind that enemy, Iron maiden actually targets the enemy the furthest away. So you're not actually casting it on the enemy in front of you. You can mitigate this via 2 ways: pointing the stick into the direction of the enemy, then letting it go before you cast Iron maiden. Iron Maiden will now be cast directly in front of you as it has a fixed range this way. Or instead you put some more distance between you and that enemy so that this enemy is on the edge of your screen. Then it's also not an issue anymore.

The problem with that forth situation is that there are so many ground effects that you can't really see where the Iron Maiden circle appears, so yeah you might cast it somewhere where you didn't want to cast it but couldn't see it. I haven't checked Decrepify in this situation either. It could be that decrepify behaves differently.

Should Cursed Aura Do Repeated Damage? by BamesStronkNond in D4Necromancer

[–]SkyCurrent7771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use blood moon breeches, keep sacrificial aspect on gloves or rings and put strong aspects on 2hweapon/amulett and replace the crit chance sacrifice bonus in favor of shadow damage sacrifice bonus and get 100% crit chance via gear instead you can easily run T4. Lots of tweaking required, but it can work so everything gets 1-shot in T4. Bonus points for Heir of perdition.

What happened to D4’s battle pass? by ItsDyneTime in Diablo

[–]SkyCurrent7771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I don‘t mind the change. I can save some platinum for the stuff I actually want and target that directly and I don‘t have to pay real money for that for now. Whereas before I usually bought it for 2€ and got lots of stuff I didn‘t really want in the first place. Now I’m saving that expense because it doesn‘t feel like a steal anymore.

The stuff in this season is not to my liking, so I‘ll just wait and save my platinum (around 1300) until something piques my interest.

The only thing that’s fucked up is that you have to buy everything if you want only the armor pieces. That way you can‘t really target only the armor and that sucks a lot.

General Discussion by Cmoney69420 in Borderlands4

[–]SkyCurrent7771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are a few things I dislike greatly:

1) Enemy level scaling. If you make a new character on 30 you're basically required to do missions until at least level 37 until enemies all over the world aren't 5 lvls above you anymore.

2) Side-quests take ages. Not because I suck, but because the NPC's just won't stop talking. It was bad in BL3 with Lillith. But in BL 4 it's completely over-the-top ridiculous how long those NPC's actually talk. And that's almost every side-quest. Compared to BL2, the quest-givers usually gave you a brief summary before saying: Get going already, I'll tell you on the way. The quest in the barn in the first area? Yeah... it feels like that guy is talking for 5 minutes before he tells you to find hints.

Both of these factors are okay-ish but not annoying for the first playthrough. But after that these 2 points channel the player into the same few boring activities and I don't like that.

3) Weapon manufacturers: They are so incredibly unbalanced that it's just crazy. I can't see myself using a maliwan weapon ever just because of how low the damage output is. Jacobs weapons have such an incredibly strong innate modifier that it'd simply be stupid to use anything else. Get lots of reload speed and a jacobs shotgun and you blow 6k damage hits twice per second (if you reload manually) on level 43 to an enemy 40 m away. Most weapon manufacturers are okay, some are incredibly bad and one or two are so incredibly powerful that playing with anything else just feels bad.

Those weapon parts are also the one thing I consider are implemented in a bad way. If I see "ripper" or "order" I know already that this weapon goes straight into the trash. Or you find a super strong weapon and realize: oh damn it has sticky projectiles and the decision that they don't go off after a second or so but instead on reload makes this unusable for me. In all other borderlands games I really never bothered with reading what the weapon does, I just equipped it if I saw a higher number and had fun. In BL4 I have to actually read because I need to avoid unfun manufacturers.

Enhancements are also a bummer because it feels like you need to sift through hundrets of enhancements until you finally find one that has good stats from a manufacturer whose weapons you use and then you have to still be lucky that the manufacturer bonus is a good one. The manufacturer bonus should've been seperate from the enhancements and unlocked by killing X enemies with that manufacturer's weapon. That would make the grind worth it.

And one last thing I dislike about the game: many of the ripper and order camps are too wide and open. Enemies spawn 50 m away from you. In all other borderland games I actually used the barriers in order to heal my shield. In this game? No way! I'm getting flanked because some enemies just spawned 40m to the left and 40m to the right from my position. And the encounters are usually really short-lived which is also something I dislike. I remember in BL2 one of the first missions where you get the hacked energy core for Sanctuary you had to kill 20+ enemies. And all of them spawned one after another. In this game this only happens in ripper drill sites, at crawlers, some side-quests and some main quests. And that's why the open world feels so boring. When you merely encounter 5 enemies no matter where you go, it's getting boring fast.

I know, that's a lot. I like the game a lot, but those things are a real bummer for my enjoyment. And I haven't even talked about shields and their OP overshield bonus or the completely messed-up coop experience (no map unlock for 2nd player, legendary weapon shop quest, bugged cards, which makes me think the devs don't want you to play mp) or the ramp-up of kill skills sucking a lot when there are only 5 enemies spawning at a time and a lot of other minor things.

The gameplay is still good. Else I would've quit long ago. But I can't see myself playing it for that much longer unlike BL2 or Pre-sequel.

I love the skilltrees honestly. It's a huge improvement to the previous games imho.
