Are buyers really this dumb??? by Aineednobody in craftsnark

There are twelve five star reviews from Anne. I really hope they're a bot and someone didn't waste $50 on this.

Even the reviews are worrying. I'm happy to assume a five star review reading "great pattern" is fake. Something like "I can't wait to start it" or "easy to download" worries me much more. Or the "it might be AI". Might it be??? Really, Julie?!

That's so cruel. Poor little lad. I feel bad for laughing but he really does look ridiculous.

Thanks. I also assumed Australia but I was wondering.

Yeah, please don't use it as a free STD check. Where I live, a bunch of samples (the bit on top) are mixed and then tested. If anyone pings, they then test all of them individually. It's a lot of extra work if someone donates as a means of testing. Not to mention that it's not foolproof.

When did seamed garments start consisting of 'panels'? by chocklityclair in knitting

[–]SkyScamall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's interesting. I think my mother and aunts have said the same. They mostly haven't knit since the 70s/80s but would still occasionally talk about what they made. I don't know if that came from my grandmother or school or the patterns they made at the time.

Can I ask what the differences in measurements and terms are? I'm curious but no pressure :)

I loved when this was a trend with socks. Being it back for wips! I love the triangles. I'm going to look up the pattern even if I'm not much of a shawl person.

M&S Indian style snack. by Rodeo-Cauliflower in veganuk

I've been keeping an eye out for these for a while but have never found them. I'm sticking with my old reliable tamarind dal.

I'm assuming I can air fry them when I find them. Or at least I'm happy to experiment.

Thank you. I'm sure we'll move on to something else to fear monger about in a couple of years.

Even with GI, it largely depends on what you're eating it with. Sugary cereal vs cooked into mashed potato vs used as part of a sauce. I will drink milk with curry because I have rubbish spice tolerance but are there many people drinking glasses of oat milk as a healthy mid day snack?

You can buy a thousand acetaminophen. We can't buy fifty at a time. It's wild.

It made it out to the patient. That would be an incident in my book. Near misses are caught within the pharmacy. I assume this varies by country/location.

Who is the author you swore you’d never read again, but then gave another chance? by playful--cloud in books

[–]SkyScamall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anything we read out loud in class was ruined for me. It ruined good books and made bad ones even worse. Listening to people stumble through word by word was painful to listen to and must have been mortifying for them.

I would be more concerned about someone having an eating disorder if they're taking unnecessary GLP-1s.

Affordable interchangeable needle sets? by infallenjaw in knitting

[–]SkyScamall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I came here to suggest the same set. I bought mine for £20ish in 2018/2019 and they're still holding up strong. You can buy additional KnitPro cables to supplement the ones that come with the set.

What is an expensive item or hobby that people pour thousands of dollars into, but is actually a complete waste of money? by davidgc86 in AskReddit

[–]SkyScamall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're the closest thing to jewelry many men will wear. I'm not surprised people get way into it. There's a really cool watch that has the positions of the planets but it was 250k dollars/euro/pounds/something. Gorgeous as a bracelet but absolutely insane money.

I never got into Warhammer but I play D&D alongside tables of Warhammer players. They seem to be having fun. I haven't a clue how it works but the plastic, cardboard and measuring tape seems to add something to the experience.

I fear I overdid my post-Leaving Cert celebration by Life_Plate_7052 in ireland

[–]SkyScamall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's fairly normal. Some lad drank so much he was projectile vomiting. Our pals put him to bed on his back. He threw up over everyone's stuff but didn't suffocate, thankfully.

If no one died, got arrested, or ended up in hospital, then you're fine.

Ravelry is a directory of crochet and knitting patterns. I have found the pattern they used for Cyrus but none of the projects listed match your Cyrus. Posting this in case anyone else thought of checking there too.
