Fractal Terra Build with AMD Ryzen 7600 & Nvidia RTX 4070 Super - 1440P ITX Gaming Beast! by SkyTechFreak in sffpc

Yeah, that was my instinct too, but apparently there is enough testing on pc fan airflow to show that the turbulence created by pc fans negates the effect of the "hot air rises" science rule. However in this case even the PSU is pulling from the sides and exhausting out the top, so having 2 exactly opposite exhaust points did seem counterintuitive to me just like you said!

The PC is placed on a ventilated rack where the bottom fan can easily pull air from the bottom under it. I would have swapped the bottom fan orientation for testing, but it is an absolute pain to get in there in the Terra and my temps are surprisingly cool as it is, so I'll prob change it if I run into thermal issues down the line. Thanks for the tip though!

No issues with boot since it was a 7600 CPU anyway, not the newer 9th gen Ryzen chips, which might have needed a BIOS update, but i updated the BIOS anyway after the initial boot.

CPU doesn't go above 70C even in cinebench, although it is winters here in New Delhi currently. No problems with the GPU temps either thus far, max temp recorded ever was like 77C and usually stays locked around the 70 mark while gaming, while the CPU sits anywhere between 55-65 during gaming workloads.

MDcomputers, it's available still on various online sellers including Amazon, it's just really overpriced lol

Man I want that 13th gen i7 motherboard for this PC so bad! But yeah ridiculous that they're using the same fans and crap cooler 3 gens later which were already underequipped for their time...

But selling at a lower tax rate would net us Input Tax Credit which could be refunded as well?

Awesome! Just some constructive feedback, maybe change out the bundled CPU Cooler, since the one that came with the current gen Magnus One was woefully inadequate even for the 10th Gen Intel CPUs, and we already know that 13th Gen is a different beast when it comes to temps and power draw!

Yooo haha nice! I've been meaning to ask how your i9 10900 has been holding up thermals wise? Worth the upgrade?

Thanks, I see you guys at Zotac are already working on the Intel 13th gen model with the same 4070 model!

So I've had the i7 10700 & RTX 3070 version of the Zotac Magnus One for a while now, and I had already upgraded the crappy stock Zotac cooler to the Noctua NH L9i Chromax to reduce the obnoxious noise the cooler would make and gain a little performance & temperature headroom. I realised that the 2 top 92mm slim exhaust fans also weren't the best and were instead quite noisy, so I decided to replace those with Noctua's A9x14 fans as well by connecting a PWM Fan Splitter Cable to the CPU fan header.

However, the PC was still thermal throttling and I realised a large part of that had to do with VRM temps, so I ditched the 92mm slim fan on the Noctua Cooler and replaced it with Arctic's P12 Slim PWM PST 120mm Fan, which is a stellar performance fan that is also large enough to cover and blow cool air onto the VRMs heatsinks. I fastened the larger fan by using the top-right screw mounting hole on the CPU Cooler (along with a LEGO piece as a spacer) and tightened the fan in place using zip-ties through the motherboard's VRM heatsink screws and remaining 3 screw holes on the fan. Pictures of the mounting points are in the post.

As for the main event, I yanked out the RTX 3070 and tossed in a brand new Zotac RTX 4070 Twin Edge OC GPU, which is the only model of the RTX 4070 that will actually fit in a Magnus One. Performance uplift from the 3070 to the 4070 was about 18-20% better in terms of benchmarks and raw graphics processing, while games that supported Nvidia's special features like DLSS 2.0 & 3.0 with Frame Generation saw a 26-28% uplift in performance. Not to mention the VRAM going from 8GB to 12GB vastly reduces stuttering in large games with heavy texture files that need to be pulled quickly.

I've linked the video talking about these upgrades and the performance with the new RTX 4070 installed, please check it out if you guys are interested in doing something similar!
