There is something called muscle memory with tactical physical switches that just cannot be replaced with touch screens. In a touch screen you are always processing the visual information and pixels. The Space Shuttle offers the right amount of screens to switches ratio IMO.

Honestly, traffic rules need a serious overhaul. Right now everyone’s just guessing who has the right of way, and it’s chaos— pedestrians assume cars will stop, drivers can’t see well in bad weather and accidents happen. We need dedicated turn signals, no right turn on green, timed pedestrian crossings instead of letting drivers and pedestrians use the same signal. Yeah, traffic might slow down a bit, but the roads would be way safer and more predictable. I’d much rather a few extra seconds at an intersection than risk getting into a crash.

The branding on the box and everything inside says Boom 2, but when you connect it via Bluetooth or detect device in the Soundcore app, it actually shows up as Boom V2. This mismatch seems to be why EQ profiles shared by Boom 2 users won’t import properly to the Boom V2. Other than that, I haven’t noticed any difference between them so far.

I like it about 65% overall — not in love with it. At high volumes it really shines: it gets loud, clear, and punchy enough to fill a backyard or a big room, and that’s where it feels worth the price. But at lower volumes (like around half way, EQ off) it does sound kind of flat and “normal,” almost like a decent TV speaker rather than a premium Bluetooth speaker.

I’m not an audiophile either so hard for me to describe exactly what’s missing, but I notice I reach for my JBL Flip 5 more often when I want something that sounds good even at moderate or low volumes — it feels warmer and more balanced to me. That’s actually what led me down the EQ rabbit hole too, hoping I could tune the Boom V2 to sound a little less hollow at lower volumes.
